Sparked - when were you there? We were in PP from 4th - 15th July and the weather then was absolutely beautiful wall to wall sunshine every day. It was actually too hot for us at times. We would like to go back in October, probably around 8th for a week. I'm a bit wary of the weather now as there has been so much cloud/wet weather. We have been last 3 years in October and first 2 years were very good, but last year was not so good. It's the luck of the draw I suppose.:)

We were there between the 10th and 24th July which again was very sunny. The 2nd week was cloudy at times but it was dry. The week after it began raining i think. Lol.

Sparked we had rain on the 4th August in the morning but it cleared in the afternoon and the only other rain since has been at night. Although it was forecast today and this morning it looked like it would rain, it has now cleared and it's 37c.

Thats not too bad then. :)
Glad to see its still nice and hot overall then. Back here its been rubbish anyway. Thunderstorm has been the order of the day here too.

Good morning it is very cloudy and windy today with the temperature at 26c. We had a little rain last night and more has been forecast for today. :(

Weather still not settling down Sparky?

Thanks for your daily weather reports Sparky, they are invaluable, even when I am in the UK, it's great to know what's going on out there.
All the times we have been going to PP, which must be about 7 years, for 2 weeks at a time, that's 98 days in all, it has only ever rained once. And I've never seen a dull, grey day. We have been so lucky with weather.
The one time it did rain, boy! did it rain. It was the last day of our holiday a few years ago and we were sitting in the 1919 cafe, killing time, waiting for our late-aftenoon taxi. It started to rain, slowly, gently at first and then the heavens opened. It was torrential. It lasted about 3 hours. We sat, sipping a cold beer or 2, and watched as the water filled the gutters and slowly rose higher and higher until it reached the top of the kerb and ran onto the pavement and into the cafe, under our feet. It was fascinating, like watching a film in slow motion. In fact, I took a dozen pictures of it. Great to see the people running like mad for shelter, squeeling and laughing, trying to get out of the rain. Then all of a sudden it stopped, the sun came out and it became very, very hot. Steam rising from the pavements, and within a few minutes everywhere was dry, as if it had never rained at all. Brilliant. I'lll never forget it.
So PP is not only great for the restaurants, scenery and laid-back atmosphere, but for the weather as well.

Oh I love the storms in PP - if the conditions are right I will spend the day looking at the clouds - will it?.....won't it? And boy when it does - it does.

I have spent many a night until the small hours looking out over the mountains with a beer or wine in hand looking for the tell tale sighs of a flash in the distance - and if the conditions weren't right it was looking for shooting stars instead (all weather related of course;))

I think that is part of the problem now!

Hola amigos it's a lovely sunny morning with a bit of a breeze and 26c.:D

The evenings have become much more pleasant now, it's not as hot and sticky but comfortable enough to sit outside.

Buenas dias, it is a cloudy start again but the sun is trying hard to break through, i think if the wind picks up it will be a nice day, it's 27c. :)

Yellow alert for rain and thunderstorms.

Hola amigos, we have a fair bit of cloud but with plenty of sunny spells, breezy and 29c. I do hope we get the forecast storms today as it is very humid again. :)

Thanks Sparky - Bulletin article about summer weather

Big thank you to Sparky about the invaluable daily weather update :)

Here is an article from today's online Bulletin -

Balearic summer weather patterns are most unusual, says Met. Office
STAFF REPORTER

FROM a weather standpoint, the Balearic Islands are having one of the most unusual summers in recent years, the National Weather Agency (AEMET) said yesterday.
Spokesperson, Maria Jose Guerrero, explained that the peak summer months have not brought with them any of the traditional “heat waves” and the first fortnight of August has been colder than average.

For years, she furthered, it hasn’t rained over the public August holiday and within just five days, temperatures in some parts of the Balearics have plummeted by between 8 and 10 degrees.

Guerrero acknowledged that summer storms which refresh the atmosphere are to be expected but not the radical change in temperature.
She added that although August continues to be rather colder than normal, last month was slightly hotter than average, but not excessively so. She said that temperatures in the Balearics have not gone up above 36 degrees Centigrade this year, a maximum which was registered for some days in July. There have also apparently been more cloudy days than would normally be the case in high summer, particularly at the start of August.

In the short term, Guerrero gave reassurances that after this spell of colder, more unpredictable weather peters out at the end of this week, the Balearics can look forward to an initial return to “comfortably hot” summer conditions.

Thanks Mike i enjoy doing my report and am glad people find it useful.
As for the report in the DB, i read that and found it interesting especially re temperatures. I suppose they take temps in the shade and my sensor is shaded in the mornings but late afternoon it is in direct sunlight and it has frequently hit the 40c's, i don't mind the heat, it's the high humidity that makes it very uncomfortable and the last couple of days have been really bad.

Good morning PP fans, well once again the storms didn't happen here, we had a few light showers last night which was only enough to dampen down the dust. It is mostly cloudy again today with a light breeze, 28c but feeling very humid .It looks like the clouds will break and the forecast is very good for the near future. :D

Hola amigos, it's a glorious morning here, sunny, a nice breeze and 29c.
Wherever you are and whatever the weather is like i hope you all have a good weekend and stay safe. :D:D

Good morning people after a very hot night (27c at 1am) it is a lovely sunny day with the usual breeze and it's 31c. :D

Welcome to a new week PP fans, once again it's a bright, sunny morning with a fairly stiff breeze, high humidity and 32c. :D
