Hi guys i was woken by thunder again last night but this morning is looking quite good, the sun is shining, it's calm and 18c. I don't know if it will last though because there are some clouds in the distance and the forecast for tomorrow is grim. :)

I have just watched the forecast on TV and we are on Orange Alert for severe weather tonight and tomorrow. The pressure is already falling, it has clouded over and the wind is getting up but it is warm at 26c.:(

P.S it has just started to rain .

Be careful Sparky and everyone else over there, batten down the hatches, hope you miss most of it

Will do SWS, i feel really sorry for the tourists but i am also getting quite excited because it will give me something different to report instead of sun and heat. ;)

Well we are getting some pretty hefty showers and there is a lot of thunder rattling around.

Thanks Cheryl but i am staying indoors..... i can't take the risk of getting water in my wine :eek:......so i will be quite safe ;).

Hola amigos the forecasters got it right, it is dreadful. It has rained heavily through the night and still is now with high winds and 20c. I have seen a few flashes of lightning and can hear thunder in the distance.

Oh Debz - I need to start praying to that sun God again for you! If I could dance to him too I would - I can't - so I won't! lol

Hope you are enjoying your stay regardless of the weather.

Weather forecast for Spain today

There are Spanish Meterological Agency Orange Alerts for Ibiza and Formentera, Menorca and the north of Mallorca. Seas are forecast to be rough round the islands and heavy rain will continue.

The first snow of the winter has fallen in the Sierra Nevada in Granada, coinciding with the bank holiday El Pilar Puente weekend.
The snow’s arrival is later than that seen in other years; the first flakes fell there last year on September 13.
The fresh snow is a thin layer above 2,700m, but enough to excite skiing fans.

Meanwhile the storms on Monday night in the south of Valencia region were forecast to leave as much as 120 litres of rain per square metre, and the rain will continue today.

There are Spanish Meterological Agency Orange Alerts for Ibiza and Formentera, Menorca and the north of Mallorca. Seas are forecast to be rough round the islands and heavy rain will continue.
There is an Orange Alert for rough seas all the way up the Levante coast from Benidorm to Girona and it’s Orange too for heavy rains in the coastal stretches of Alicante and Valencia provinces.
Yellow alerts stretch inland as far as Cuenca, Albacete, Teruel and up the coast to the French border.

Showers or heavy and persistent storms in the east of Cataluña, SE of Aragón, the far east of Castilla-La Mancha, the Valencia region, and the Baleares.
The storms would be very heavy on the Balaeares and along the coast of the Valencia region, but weaker in the res

Hi eleanor...pray harder!!! We have friends arriving tomorrow so hope we get some sunny days.

It's still chucking it down...really chucking it down.. so have had a very lazy morning in bed, only getting up to make tea a couple of times ;) It's bliss! I'm up for good now and just ploughing my way through a packet of shortbread with my coffee before I do some exercises!!

Going to drive to Cala SV this afternoon and have a walk round the village. I love watching the waves crashing in when the weather's stormy.

Just looked out of the window and I think it may just be brightening up a bit over the mountains...well done eleanor :)

There you go Debz - faith! lol

Actually We love to go to CSV when it's stormy as it is just wonderful to watch the sea with huge crashing waves -can be a little scary though but well worth it.
I will keep praying to the sun God for you Debz and if it doesn't work I may even force myself to do a little dance! lol

Have a great time whatever the weather!

We jsut got back today - awful trek to Palma - could hardly see the road for the driving rain! Then 2 hour delay in the airport due to the lovely French controllers playing up again. Then we boarded and taxied out to the runway but then the winds suddenly changed and then we had to find another runway where we waited and waited and waited - finally took off and got back 3 hours later than planned. But was it all worth it - yesssssss! Will do a trip report asap.:)

Great prediction Stephen its certainly been very very wet and windy. Lets hope it improves tomorrow.

Good morning PP fans, well it is a dry start to the day but there is a fair amount of cloud around, breezy and 17c. Looks like it will be a day of sunshine and showers, i am off early to Palma to get my "Residentia" certificate.......wish me luck, i hate cities .

Early start Sparky m8, hope it goes ok, you will soon be back in the port :)

The weather was no where near as bad as forecast, in fact today in Palma and PP has been quite nice with long sunny spells.

Agreed 100% Sparky.

We arrived at Palma airport yesterday 3.15pm after a six hour delay at Glasgow and it was bouncing however when we reached the port it had gone off and today is really quite pleasant.

Long may it continue!

waved to the webcam this morning. Is it working?
