Yes, its All Saints Day. An important day especially for Catholics.

It is Dia de los Muertos ( Day of the Dead) in Spain. It is a day to remember friends & family who have passed away. Many families visit the cemeteries taking food & gifts.

You are right Cheryl whereas here All Souls' Day is marked on 2nd November following All Saints' Day on the 1st. It is an opportunity for Roman Catholics especially to commemorate the departed. They remember and pray for the souls of people who are in Purgatory.

It is an important weekend for the religious whether in Spain or UK. A time for reflection and a beneficial weekend for those selling flowers in either Country.

Hola amigos it is very dull here this morning, it's breezy and 18c. The forecast is not too good for the next few days.

Good morning guys and gals did you all remember to turn your clocks back, we had some very heavy rain during the night but it is dry at the moment, breezy and 19c. The forecast for the next few days is for showers.

Bon dia amigos well it looks like a bit of a mixed bag today with sunshine and possible showers, it is very breezy and 18c.

Buenas dias amigos. We had a lot of rain with some thunder and lightning last night and although it is dry, windy and 18c at the moment, more showers have been forecast for today. However the forecast for the next 3 days is very good .

Bon dia tots it is very windy this morning but we have glorious sunshine and it's 22c.

Right Sparky, am now starting the laying out of clothes and boots and shoes. So please let it just settle down to one sort of temperature or I will be packing and unpacking again for the next week!!

The secret (at the moment) is "layers", i am still wearing lightweight tops and crops but with a cardi, shrug or wrap. Boots and shoes are still packed away, have only worn trainers when we had heavy rain.

Yes its that difficult time. The holidaymakers are still in strappy tops ,then some like Sparky and myself are in between while most of the locals have jumpers and scarves and boots on.

It always makes me laugh when you visit PP in the winter, getting sun and temperatures of about 20c, and you're sitting outside a cafe bar on the promenade in shorts and t-shirts and a Spanish family walk by with hats, fur coats, gloves and boots on as if it's freezing cold !!

Well after the 1st October they consider it winter and will dress accordingly unti lmay when Summer starts.

Belladonna... I thought I would cover all bases for my trip last week... and packed a pair of boots & a shearing jacket to merge seamlessly with the locals.
Barring one day when it poured (and they were suede boots - so no way were they going for a paddle !) I spent the week in a bikini on the beach !
The jacket... well I really appreciated it landing back at Prestwick, in what felt like a minus 5 gale !
This time of year, fortunately there aint too many ppls about to see how much of a 'ur a tourist' getting the last rays of the year before signing up to the UK winter !!

Thanks Miriam. Also have the boots and jacket on standby, even if, as you say, they will only be used on the return journey! Think the bikini may stay at home though!
