Stupid question...

Anyone know the weather forecast for the next 2 weeks?

I know it's normally in the high 20s or low 30s in August whenever we've been there but I have known it to rain once or twice. Waterproof jacket and umbrella, do you think? Or just my normal t-shirt and shorts?

It's been persistantly pouring here since Tuesday, very heavy rain, very depressing.

Pollpott- when we left on Saturday the temperature was going up.We had a cloudy start to the fortnight and one heavy shower on the wednesday evening of the 1st week - follwed by a burst of thunder and lightening.It soon cleared the air.Apart from one cloudy morning the following week it was glorious

As I write this it is hammering down as they say -I thought Swansea was bad today in work - I could not see across the bay but this is worse

Temperature in Majorca 3 to 5 degrees above normal

IF you feel that it’s particularly hot at the moment, you’re right. The Balearic Meteorological Office confirmed yesterday that temperatures being registered this week in Majorca are between three and five degrees above the average for this time of the year.

Weather centre chief Agusti Jansa said that whereas 30 or 31 degrees Celsius in Palma and 32 in the central areas of the Island are the norm for the latter part of July, midweek temperatures for both sectors were recorded at 35. Last Monday produced the hottest spots in Sa Pobla with a maximum of 36.5 degrees Celsius, lowering to 30.3 at Palma airport and in Mahon (Minorca) and Ibiza town on Ibiza.

Jansa said, however, that it is only Majorca which is suffering this intense heat in the Balearics. On Minorca, although thermometers are showing a slightly higher reading, it is only a difference of about one degree in comparison with previous years, and on Ibiza, temperatures are registering normally for the time of year. Jansa acknowledged that a public “yellow” alert should have been issued in the region regarding the high temperatures but it had not been considered necessary because of the forecast of a strong sea breeze. But it “hasn’t been blowing to the intensity it should have done,” he added.

What are us Brit's like - we crave for the sunshine, then complain when it gets too hot!

We were over in June/July and it was so hot we had to bite the bullet and get aircon installed. Fortunately Confort (electrical shop in the port) came to the rescue and installed the very next day.
