"Good luck to the Spanish stikers"

I wonder if you'll really be thinking that when your flight is delayed/cancelled and/or officials at the airport don't turn up for work and you're left stranded awaiting your hard earned longed for holiday ?!

Unfortunately as everywhere cuts need to be made but I am not sure striking is the answer

It might not even happen, over the weekend i read in an online newspaper that nearly 70% of the Spanish public are not in favour of it.

Would rather we kept political comment off the board, and wouldn't comment as i don't know enough about it. But would the "up the workers" brigade still be so enthusastic if they had to cancel their holiday, or suffer a stifling day at the airport because they ain't going anywhere because of some strike.?

I agree with Smiddy, lets not get into the politics, you can do that on the Tapas Bar. As i have already said it may not even happen.

Puerto Pollensa Beach

A similar article makes front page headline news in The Majorca Daily Bulletin Today.

San Miguel:confused:

Yep, its in virtually every paper on line too. Same old thing as last year yet again. So frustsrating.:(

Groundhog day ....... On the other hand I do so love the beach without all the beds and never use them myself ...... Don't stay in one place long enough to need one ...

Walk to beach .... Ah best stop off at illa D'Or for a coffee first

Lie on my towel for 10mins ..... Too hot so go for a swim ..... Come out wet so go for a walk along seashore to dry off ..... Sit down again for a short while ..... Mmmm think I need an ice cream ..... Wander off to little shop ..... Sit on bench to eat the ice cream ..... Wander back .... Lie down for 10mins ..... Hot again .... Back in the sea ..... Long swim to exercise off the ice cream .... See some nice fish so go and get the snorkel ..... Mooch around observing the fish and other sea creatures ..... Back to towel , dry off ..... Lie for 10mins ..... Oops it's lunchtime and a particularly lovely pair of eyes are calling me from leetle italeeeee ......... See what I mean ...... Absolutely no point in me buying a sun lounger

But can also understand that others do like them

Absolutely brilliant cd ... you've summed up a hot summers day in PP perfectly :D

Don't ya just lurve lazing around doing not a lot

Saw this too Sparky, not sure if they had in mind making it one way even, perhaps easier then going for an all out closure, would still allow access to the beach etc, but make more people use the new road, one to watch I think.

Sounds promising although reading the link it looks as if they are proposing to predestrianise between LLenaire and La Gola:confused:

Surely it makes more sense between La Gola (even better Avenida de Paris) and the La Llonja roundabout. This is the area where all the shops, bars, and restaurants are and at the moment the pavement in that area is ridiculously narrow. If they kept the access to the Marina car park it wouldn't effect parking either as there are few parking spaces on that bit of road. However between Llenaire and Avenida de Paris a lot of people park on the road when going to the beach so if this part was pedestrianised where would they all park?

Oh it definitely is it, had trouble translating semipeatonalización, which I presume means part pedestrianised, good to see a lot of the topics we have been talking about on here for ages getting coverage in the papers and being discussed at a high level.

I suppose in the end it doesn't matter how much they/we talk about it, where is the money to fund it going to come from?. Only time will tell ;).

Todays paper version of the MDB reports a drop in passengers and air traffic in all 3 Balearic airports for February. Now i am not being funny but, with all airlines cutting flights this winter, wasn't that bound to happen .....talk about stating the obvious .

More bogus gasmen arrested in Palma, don't become a victim of these criminals. Remember the golden rule "If they don't have an appointment don't let them in". Renters, please warn your clients.
