The price of regular 95 petrol has hit a new high, it is 1.498 euros a litre (the average price in Spain). In the Balearics, the price will rise again by about 4cents in May because of the local tax for funding the health service.

Pollensa’s Sa Gola nature park management dissolved.
The Balearic government yesterday confirmed that it is dismantling the management structure set up to oversee La Gola nature park and bird watching centre in Pollensa.

That is interesting Sparky, these mark the 100m distance form the waterfront which is supposed to be public access, although as it says some times its barely 20m, just thinking now all the places on the island we have been to and whether this is enforced, a few places we have been to have no access and you have to go round large hotels!!

A couple of interesting articles from the MDB & the MD Photo-Blog Sparky.
Re. La Gola - It is good to note that the current management team 'The Espais de Natura Balear' are to take over full control and maitenance.
La Gola Nature Zone is still in its relative infancy and hopefully more wildlife - particulary birds, butterflies and insects - should appear over the next few years.
Many people will only see it from the bridge on the 'sea front', often looking at the many fish there (grey mullet I believe). So do make an effort and have a walk round the track, it makes a pleasant interlude as part of your day in PP.

RE Bird life in La Gola,,, One things for sure. The ducks obviously love it. The increase in that population over the last few years is mind boggling. As Pescador say's, have a walk around it. You would be Quackers not to .:)

Terrace Law.

I see in Andrews blog that the mayor has / will benefit from the new ruling concerning the areas that can be occupied outside cafes, hotels etc. Given the long history of dubious dealings in local town halls, is this just pure coincidence?

Nick a new law governing the amount of tables & chairs on terraces & public paths has been passed recently, it is being said that the mayor's family business namely the Hotel Juma will benefit from this as they will be able to have more tables in the square.

Aah, right, thanks for that Sparky. It's for more tables and chairs then. That's what I'd heard actually.
Cheers.

:confused:i wonder then if there are more people sitting at them then they will employ more staff as when its busy you struggle to get served some times you wonder why ??
