What's passport control like at Palma now?

It might be worth noting that the airport operators appear to turn the passport machines off at midnight and resort to manual staffing at 2 booths. We were unfortunate to be on a very delayed flight last Saturday and watched the 'machine advisors' go home at midnight. Some of the poor families with children on late night/early morning arrivals had to wait in fairly considerable queues to get through.

I didn’t know they turned the machines off at midnight. Worth knowing When I travelled with my daughter and granddaughter in April I through the automatic scanning booth and there was no delay but she had go to the manual booth. I was told that anyone under 18 has to go through the manual booth. When I came back with a friend last week at midday no queues. It looks like it may cause problems during the summer though.

Just to point out that it was the 'arrival machines' that we saw turned off the other night while we were waiting for a delayed flight home to UK. It might have been a 'one off' due to staff shortages??

Whizzed straight through yesterday morning in seconds. The automatic gates are great and their are 40 of them Plenty of staff around to help too.

No problems on Saturday although there was a very long winding queue at the side which I think we were once part of a couple of years ago.
