Which web cams work?

As far as i know, there are 3 webcams in puerto pollensa.

Riusech- hasn't worked for ages and still doesn't?

Sail and surf - Good, reliable and works!!

BH - not working at present?

Anyone know of any others and if i am right in saying only sail and surf is currently working?

Liz - I think you're right - I've searched for other cams but these seem to be the only ones in PP. I do miss the BH one though as there was always so much 'people' activity! And the Ruisech one was good for a sort of distance view. Can't think why BH and Ruisech always seem to have problems - you'd think that if S & S can manage to keep theirs running, then why cant the others?:confused:
 
Could somebody please provide a link to sail and surfs webcam?

Hello everyone. This is my first post to the forum although I registered a while ago and I have been reading most days. I was a bit uncertain how to join in until I saw this post today because it was the question I was going to ask . . So thank you for this.

I had been watching the the BH one for a few days in May, following a link from here, I was really disappointed when it stopped working because I enjoyed the view very much. The best view in the world, in my opinion that is.

I would be really happy if anyone can give me the link to how to the Sail and Surf one, please.
 
Whoops. . . I see I was beaten to the post . . ;) Thanks for that anyway Rab. I hadn't realised my first few posts had to be moderated. Mind, it is written there on top of my page. I'm such a dumbo :rolleyes:

Don't know what system they are using at BH, but our 'town' webcam, kindly hosted by our local photographer, sometimes goes 'down'. Invariably the glitch is caused by a loss of power on the pc or webcam which in turn loses the I.P. address for the server. The whole thing has to be rebooted and new IP address set manually
Here it is at http://tinyurl.com/GHwebcam (hopefully working). You can move the camera left/right/up/down and increase the size of the picture. The notice on the pole in the foreground refers to local parking restrictions, not time spent watching the webcam.
Wouldn't it be good if the estate agents upgraded to one of these? It 'only' cost £120.:D
 
It wont work for me clinkham! Page came up, and get all the info at the side, but the actual area where the picture should be remains obstinately blank!
 
Just tried your link, Clinkham and it worked! Nice goodlooking man in a suit just crossed the road. Think I will hang on incase he comes back lol

It gets more interesting later, when the takeaways open and people queue for their taxis (next 2 shops to the right).

It's definitely working using a Firefox browser. There is another link to try if you are using Internet Explorer. Go to Studio 25, Graphistudio, Weddings Lancashire,wedding photographer lancashire, wedding photographer UK, Wedding Photography, Portrait Photography, Wedding Photographers, Photographs,Lancashire Wedding Photographers, Blackburn Wedding Photographers, Bu and follow the Webcam link on the top bar. On the next page, below the YouTube video, amongest the text are two links - one for internet explorer and one for Firefox and other browsers.

This is not a webcam for puerto pollensa? Looks like a british town to me and nothing to do with PP?:(:mad::rolleyes:
 
Sorry clinkham, just re read your post and see the link IS uk webcam and just an example of software that could potentially be used by BH

Looks like the only working puerto pollensa webcam is sail and surf.

Your town looks nice, but just doesn't do it for me like the pinewalk!!
 
I suppose we have become used to having the webcams in PP and obviously miss them when they are not working. Perhaps the companies which have the webcams have decided they are not worth the bother to them to house them. After all they don't have to!

Thankfully the sail and surf one is working so we haven't been cut off altogether.
 
Don't think you're the dumbo eleaoner. It really is me who's the dumbo. I just cannot get either of the links mentioned to work on my computer. I don't know if it's my system or the antivirus thingie (very tecno eh?) but something is preventing the installation.

Ah well, looks like i'll have to rely on my happy memories of PP to keep me going until September!
