Paella

Just got back from a quick 5 days in PP with wife, daughter, son in law and 17 month grand daughter and I feel the need to repeat my earlier post about Ca'n Ferrer doing the best Paella. However not only Paella as the food is all excellant and very reasonable. I'd put the food on a par with O Lume but with far more atmosphere in the restuarant. We only ate out on 4 nights and 2 of those were at Ferrer which tells its own story!! Besides paella which we all had on one night we had two different meals between us on the other which was roast leg of lamb (carved at the table) and rabbit stew with onions - delicious!! Can't wait for the next time.

Hotel Niu, on the terrace, Sunday lunchtime, sun shining, amazing view, azure blue sea. Lazy, relaxed paella. Stunning.

(writing this at 8.10 on a wet, grey Monday morning just before leaving for work!!!!)

Veg or Meat Paella

Is there any place that does a paella for one as my husband loves paella and I don't really like fish, is there any where that does a veggie or meat paella

Los Faroles by a long shot , i was in there for the first time July 08 and it was fantastic
and i think Macman would agree , we were there. together with Jaime whom we met
at
the Hobby Club
jmac.

Hi Folks have not been on for a while but now that Christmas is past it's Pollensa count down. On the paella debate I would agree with jmac that our visit to Los Faroles was by far the best paella I have had, and we were there with a local who rates it as his favorite

I am informed that paella tends to be more of a lunchtime dish with the Spanish. Cella Parra seem to have a huge local following. If you're ever there on a Saturday lunchtime, you'll see not only locals inside eating it, but also plenty going out on their huge dishes as takeaways. That's a good enough advert for me!

Ikebane - Paella mixta - sundays - fish and meat paella with a tinto de verano, just cant go wrong

Tolo's used to be the best but we haven't had it there for a few years.

C'an Ferrar for us washed down with a bottle of Mont Ferrutx

Clivia in the old town does a lovely one with lobster - great as a special treat! I've also had a lovely seafood one at the yacht club. Otherwise it's Ca'n Ferra all the way!

Los Faroles by far. I lived in PP for 2 years, and tried every paella in the port!
Tastes even better sitting outside in one of the gardens - and by the way, I always drink red wine with everything, you cannot go wrong with a nice Rioja!
