Perhaps PP would be a happier place if we didn't "give mouthfulls" or indulge in "retaliation"?

From time to time, whether you are in PP, Palma or wherever in the world you are going to find people whose behaviour is (how can I put this), less than acceptable. However, as a regular visitor to PP I still don't think that generally there is anything to be concerned about. The sad thing is that the most consistent anti social behaviour comes (as usual) from those travelling from the UK.

We recently returned from a lovely couple of weeks in PP in June. This was our 3rd visit in as many years, after a gap of 4 years previously. Have to say that I have hardly noticed any hugely negative differences in PP over a 7 year period. Yes, there has been a small influx of 'themed' bars but these are a necessary evil in this day and age as the resort does need to attract people of all ages and interests to survive. The character of the place has not changed (in my opinion) and retains that unique laid back atmosphere that everyone loves.
We always stay on the same street as the Illa d'or and did not see/hear any drunken behaviour whatsoever either there or anywhere else in the resort - it was fantastically peaceful as always.

In my opinion

I have been a local here for 16 years now, which is about 80% of my life, and i think the problem here is the ammount of younger girls/boys in ther 14-16 age group are allowed out and are overwhealmed with the fact that here they can, and will ge served alcohol. Now if you give someone of this age alcohol, they are not going to know whats hit them. In my opinion, the girls of this age, innocent none the less, once tipsy or even drunk may be thrown a pervy gesture and in the state they are in, they may even like it. This then gives these spanish boys more confidence and eventually they start with the pervy slurs and gestures during the day. The boys know no better. I think what needs to be tightened up is the age control on alcoholic bevves.

Also, it is impossible to open another full night club (with a 7am close time) in the port. The only remaining club with that type of liscence is Chivas. All other bars are only liscenced until 4am.

This is only my opinion and i mean no harm.

Thanks for your view Nick, sounds reasonable to me, nearly all teenagers of that age go through a slightly horrid stage, ours are at the moment, though not in a drunken way.Their older brothers are good Dads, whilst Nan And Grandad have reverted to their teenage years and going out and having fun,preferably in PP. Where we live on the South Coast it is a bit of a no go area on a Saturday night( our boys not involved) but I'm confident that when we're in the port next week all will be lovely as usual.
