Can anyone tell me in their opinion which is the better area for nearest to shops or restaurants and quietness , i always get totally confused on which is which

Gotmar and Gommar are the same area one spelling being Catalan the other being Spanish.
The area is roughly a 10/12 minute easy walk to Eroski (depending on how quickly you walk and the temperature!) with smaller shops being closer by obviously depending on where in Gommar/Gotmar you might be.
The area has restaurants nearby including Stefano's the Italian which opened a couple of years ago. It was before that well known as the Hideaway.
Gommar/Gotmar is a lovely area within easy walking distance of the centre and beaches. Many parts being residential. Public transport is easy from here too with regular buses to the Old Town.

I think it stretches from the habitat roundabout taking in the houses on Puig de Llenaire down to the ringroad and beyond towards the sea to Panorama Hotel, Golden Lion and Restaurante Ikebana.
It includes Carrers Cadernera, Voltor, Pinsa and Oronella and associated cross roads, Verderol, Estornell, and Colon. I believe it also includes the area over the ringroad (Falcó) towards the sea bounded by Carrers Cadernera and Corb Mari, including Carrers Gavina and Gorrio, culminating at Restaurante Ikebana.
They are wonderful names:
Cadenera means Goldfinch
Voltor is Vulture
Pinsa is Chaffinch
Oronella is Swallow
Verderol is Greenfinch
Estornell is Starling
Falcó is Falcon
Corb Mari is Cormorant
Gavina is Seagull
Gorrio is Sparrow
and Bot is Boat leading you to the sea.
