La Celtika opening again on the 19th March, posted on their FB page

It's odd that the staff in both places are wearing the same uniforms, i wonder if there has been a take-over, no sign of Toni .

I always thought (assumed) that Cafe L'Algar, Gran Cafe 1919 & Tex Mex were all owned by the same people/group.

They belong to the Grupo Dakota ( Google ) which includes the above and quite a few more..

The Algar belongs to the owners wife, whose family owns quite a few of the properties.

They also own O´Hara´s Irish pub.

The company is Grupo Boulevard and they have a HO in Alcudia which is think is called something like Building Center (so you think it's a DIY!).

They tool over Algar quite a while ago which is why they do have the same menus etc. as Cafe 1919.

And as we all know they own a lot of the 'themed' eateries!

They also own/promote some of the new apartment blocks on the Pine Walk.

Well, you learn something new every day, i always thought Cafe Algar was an independant.......strange that they have only just started wearing the same uniforms though ;).

Pollensa you are right, but I understand there were some changes after one of the partners divorced, the Algar being left to the wife whose family owned several of the properties that the group use for their businesses.
Maybe it is currently being rented to the group.
It´s the same as the Casa Vila, they are part of a chain that own and run some places on the front as well.
Most of the hotels in the Port are all part of a big chain as well.
Then we complain about the British high street !

Have just returned from a week's visit to PP. Many restaurants now opening and we found for a lunchtime snack with lovely seaview you can't beat Joker. Excellent food and service.
For evenings reserve your place at Cellar la Parra. Again excellent food and service in typical Spanish surroundings. Definitely have to book - we saw people turned away the night we were there.

Grupo Boulevard also own C'an Pescador, the Australian Boulevard pub and the Santafe Grill (which looks very similar to the Dakotas).

They also own the Voss retail outlets.

They used to own Los Pescadores on the Pine Walk but demolished this to build the apartment block Edificio Boulevard where a certain cyclist some people may have heard of now has his PP home!

I think most restaurants are now open so i will soon close this thread, many thanks to all members who have supplied info throughout the winter, here's to a successful season :D.
