I notice that there is still work going on at El Ancla even though it's well into May. I always understood that works had to stop at the start of the month

Sparky said some inside work can carry on after May, they are supposed to be having the restaurant ready for opening in June, which will be amazing if they manage it!!

Yes i was told they can get special permission to continue work but they cannot do anything that produces dust and noise levels must be adhered to. However i was also told that if there are any complaints from neighbours work will be stopped.

I certainly wouldn't like to be staying in Hotel Romantic at the minute when the work is still ongoing. I would imagine that it would be bad for business for them while the work is continuing

Staying at the Romantic in one of the side rooms overlooking the new building will not be great even when it's finished.No sun and no view.

They must be paying the Romantic a lot of money not to complain as they arent using all the Hotel Hope people read the reviews before they book !

Will be interested to see it when we visit Loved the old Ancla Bar Are the previous owners still around the corner in SolyMar ?? Had a good afternoon in there one afternoon last September dodging rain dripping through the umbrellas drinking lots of Rose Wine !

Apologises to all but unfortunately we are going to be delayed in opening up the new restaurant due to the cargo boat being delayed in Valencia!!!!! So we will be opening SATURDAY 4th JUNE at 8pm instead of Friday 3rd! Please pass this around to anyone you know that was planning on coming!!!

Yes, tables and chairs being unpacked now...it has been great watching this place develop over the winter months and it is looking really nice from what we see on the webcam. Can't wait to try it, two buildings along from where we are staying this year so will be nice and handy.

Looking good, very modern compared to the Old El Ancla....which in all honesty I think I preferred! More traditional and atmospheric. Having said that, they have done an amazing job and I wish them well.
