Apparently the Australian Bar is going to be run by a chap called Marcelo, who used to work for Ca Ses Monges, next to Los Faroles.

A slight change here, it isn't a Bony waiter who will be running this but it's his wife and sister. It is going to be a tapas bar and will open in a couple of weeks ;).

Jose (Bonys) has told me tonight that the bar will be called "Meraky" ;).

Marcelo...Great family guy who worked in a café on Monument Square in Pollensa, then in Marcs Restaurant in the Port amonst others... Give him your support in this new venture. :cool:

Mulligan's.

Sad news, Mulligan's will be closing down permanently in 3 weeks time :eek:.

The owner of the building has decided not to renew the lease because apparently they want to re-develop the site.

Such a shame as this was the only British run bar in the port to remain open all year round and they also supported live music :(:(.

Hubby = Chris :(

That is sad news indeed, but aren't there any other empty place they could reopen?

The old but magnificent pine tree on the terrace at Swing Restaurant has been removed :(

Pictures / videos are available on FB :(

Yes. A large bough came down in the January storm so I guess it was deemed to be unsafe.

They have made the remaining stump of the tree at swing into a table and I must say they have made a good job of it. Was all set to be very disappointed as the kids loved that tree but instead I have a feeling it might be my new favourite spot to sit and look out to sea!!

What was Tonik is now called "Chez Antoine Bistro" ;).

I met Chris (the new owner) on Sunday, he was in Geminis watching the footy, i think he is French but speaks perfect English and Spanish. He is a friendly guy and i wish him and his wife the best of luck :D.

He gave me the wrong spelling, it's "Meraki" ;).

Love this name! It has a lovely meaning too :)

Meraki - Doing something with soul, creativity, or love — when you put “something of yourself” into what you're doing, whatever it may be."

We’ll definitely try here at Easter. We’re virtually next door😂😅 Wish the owners all the best in the world.
