social distancing

just wondering , if things are easing in the port are people forgetting the social distance rule or is it being adhered too pretty well out on the streets and in shops and restaurants and bars ? would love to hear its doing pretty well as were out in august fingers crossed

Hi, all is being adhered to really well both in PP and Pollensa, all the shops are very well organised, hand sanitiser is available at the entrance to every shop, and you are expected to use it. Masks have to be worn in any shop, all waiters are wearing the masks and no one appears to be taking this for granted. The local police are firmly policing all and reminding us politely to wear masks and distance if momentarily forgotten! I personally think all is being dealt with in a really careful, responsible way and would have no concerns at all, and I have been here throughout lockdown and have watched all evolve and is going well.

Maintaining social distance..

That would be my concern for PP as well. I do notice a relaxation in a good number of people's attitude to social distancing here in my part of London. But I'm hopeful that the visitors who know and love PP will follow the example of of all of the residents!!

totally agree need the people here to spend but hope they respect the hard lockdown that happened here and kept us all safe .
that is why all here are adhering to rules because do not want to suffer lockdown again

And unfortunately i had a bad experience tonight. We were in our favourite bar when a tourist from London who had obviously had a lot to drink came in and although he spoke good Spanish had no regard for the social distancing rules, the owner had to tell him to back off. At first he was chatting with some of the locals who were quite wary. He then came to us and tried to shake hands with me, i respectfully asked him to keep his distance and explained that after a hard lock down i didn't want any physical contact with a total stranger. After telling me that he loved me , he eventually staggered off but this is exactly the kind of behaviour that concerns us.

Yes I would be wary, just as well we are not like him. You can be assured we will be abiding by the rules in PP and at home.

Totally agree, we will be very respectful. Looking forward to our trip and have no desire to worry anyone at all. Such a shame about that experience Sparky.
