Had a look in when visiting the market this morning. I would describe it as a snack bar/cafeteria with a range of basic foodsf and drink. Was very busy with mainly local customers

Can Punxo has now reverted to it's original name "Neptuno", i have no more info at the moment ;).

I noticed that the other day but it didn't register:D

Me Too! I said to my husband that it had just reopened but he thought it had been open earlier in the week. It never registered that the name had changed as its always been Neptuno to me!

Can Punxo/Neptuno - if it’s the place I’m thinking of, do you think it will reinstall the ‘real’ tapas counter on the bar ?

I doubt it as it is still the same owners i.e. Tiberi

It would be a dream come true if Neptuno re-opened just as before, really loved it - seems like a lifetime ago (probably was)!

Fingers crossed!!

This is the first post re "Neptuno" from 2002!!

We visited last December & then in February but not over Christmas itself. Quite a few restaurants were closed - but Neptuno was open - & several others that cater for locals. Stay & Ca'n Cuarassa are open & I believe Balaixa did Christmas meals as do the Chinese Luna de Miel.

Although the Illa d'Or used to be open, I don't think it does any more. Your best bet is to find an apartment with heating - there are several on the rentals page

Those were the Days my Friend....

If I could turn back time... (Forgive from bursting into song ha ha)

We were also great fans of the old Neptuno especially the huge tapas menu.
My abiding memory is of enjoying a meal there with my family and watching spain win he world cup. I have photos somewhere of my grandson (15 months at the time) wearing a Spanish shirt and being carried on shoulders of the waiters when the final whistle went.
Great days

The old Rincon de Mami is having a facelift, a new bar has been fitted. I don't have any more details but am curious to see how it turns out ;).
