Thanks for the advice and we will try the local dishes !

After reading the reviews on here I decided to try Ca'n Josep last week and I wasn't disappointed. The food, service & ambience were all excellent.

Having read so much about and being told by Bonyslad to go to Ca'n Josep went went on 22 October 2009 the very night of very high winds and rain managed to park in Marina car park so not far to walk, arrived at around 20:30 just two people eating, went in made very welcome on this horrid night by Josep had good look at menu but went fo MDD which was -
Seafood Creme Soup
or
Rissotto of Chicken and wild Mushrooms
or
Eggs Casserole "Old Style"
or
Beet and Goat's milk Cheese Salad
Mains
Beef Medallions with wild Rovellones
or
"Llampuga" Fish fillet with white wine sauce
or
Chicken and Pineapple Brochetta with Curry Sauce
All served with Potatoes and Fresh Vegetables
Followed by
Special House Dessert.
14,75€
I had Soup and Fish which were superb well cooked and presented having talked to Josep as only another table of 4 turned up he had time to chat what a super guy, we enjoyed our meal so much we returned for Breakfast the following morning before flying home.
Another great resturant in the Port.

Told you so , Snowy !!!!

Went for Sunday lunch yesterday at 1.30 ( 12.30 ??? did the clocks go back or forward ??? ) left in the dark after seeing the Pool beat the Reds on Spanish TV ) must have been 6.00/7.00 p.m.

No meal of the day for some reason but good food nevertheless and not OTT price wise . Really think this has been one of the hits of the year here and well deserved for the hardworking and welcoming Josep.

Ended up drinking Brandy in the Cultural watching Barca stuff Real Zaragoza 6-1 !!!!!!

I had the good fortune to sample MDD in Joseps last week in the sunshine. Starter of black rice with clams followed by sea bass and Mascapone??? cheesecake and two beers.

Fantastic grub in fantastic surroundings 10/10

We had not been able to try this restaurant befor now and have been looking forward to it.

The restaurant itself is tasteful and the service very good. The rather tall waiter with his constant "fantastico" comments, and his magic slight of hand tricks seemed to go down well with children who were in that night!

But, the chairs were SO uncomfortable! The ones outside looked far better with their padded cushions, we almost felt like popping outside and pinching one! The restaurant was rather chilly, but this seems to be the unfortunate downside of eating out of season at easter. The MDD was 19.75 euros. A couple of our group went away from that, and our total bill for 4 of us came to 90 euros.
The ravioli was very good, both for a starter and a main course. I found the lamb quite gristly though, and couldn't finish it. The portions were quite small - except for the ravioli. Food portion size is pretty important in my opinion. If there is too much you can leave it, if not enough, you feel hard done by. I would probably be happier to pay slightly more for the choice.

Because of all the other great reports on this restaurant, we will probably give it another try, but if it had been our first visit I'm sorry to say I probably wouldn't rush back. Not bad - but not great in our opinion.

Went for lunch here today, hubbies birthday. Menu of the day at 19.75, was super. We both had the chicken risotto with mushrooms, followed by John Dory and Medallions of Beef in Red Wine Sauce, followed by dessert(strawberries and ice cream as special treat for OH) The portions were ample, wine, water ,bread and ali oli included. Hope you will give it another try Belladonna.

A must when visiting Puerto Pollensa. The food is exquisite and the views magnificient. My family (Hughes) have visited PP for the last 7 years. Ca'n Josep is our opinion is the best restaurant in PP. A wide range of delicious food (the octopus starter is a must). The steaks are sublime and the fish magnificient and cooked to perfection.

The owner Josep is both professional and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Ca'n Josep will order any fish (even if not on the menu) as a special request. Josep made our time in PP this year extra special and each visit the food became better and better (even though we didnt imagine this could be possible).

My family ate at Josep's every evening we went out. The atmosphere is fantastic and the house white wine is a local wine and crisp, dry and utterly delicious. The staff are efficient but take time to make sure you have everything you desire. A wonderful place in a wonderful location.

Thank you Josep, cant wait to visit you again next year!
Steve, Carole, Charlotte and Ruby!

I totally agree; we have been going to Puerto Pollensa for the last 20 years and Josep helped us on many occasions. When he opened his own restaurant we went to give him our custom and the food was the best I have tasted anywhere including Italy. We are going again in May and looking forward to visiting him and his restaurant again. (Greenhalgh family)

Mariano Miranda will be playing at Ca'n Josep on Tuesdays and Saturdays 8pm ish.

Had a meal here last week for the first time and it is a smart restaurant with nice food. Also served by the "fantastico" waiter, although the saying did wear thin after about the 10th time !!!

They had the aircon on inside and it was blowing straight onto my shoulders. I asked if it could be turned off and it was within a couple of minutes.

I also had an English breakfast there at 4.95 euros and it was good vfm.

Will certainly return when I revisit.

We went twice last week. One of the times was when Mariano was playing (what a thoroughly nice bloke he is, we bought 2 CD's). The food was very good. I had the lasagne, which was mahoosive and very filling. I refrained from eating the whole thing so I could leave room for dessert, which was a masterpiece of chocolate brownie. The presentation was a delight in itself!

Fantastic! ;)

It makes me smile every time i think about it.

Fantaaaastic, great character, great place. wonder if the lovely waiter knows he is becoming a bit of a celeb on the forum?

:D Fantaaaassssstticc:D

Don't forget the facial expression that goes with it. Kind of like a really bad Elvis impersonator. Who is this guy anyway? Is it Josep himself? Or is Josep the little guy?

C'an Josep Revisited !

Arrived yesterday and remembered the rave reviews for the guitarist, so suggested we try C'an J again (Only other visit was less than good - but the wee man wasn't there on that occasion)
Last nite was totally different exp. Boss man around and making folks welcome. Presentation, food and service all excellent.
OH is a guitar geek so he was well pleased.
Only our second visit to C'an J, we will be back but willl still make sure that the wee man is on duty as it made a huge difference.

Miriam:)
