Confused on map

When I go into a map of PP there appears to be a new road cutting through the town past the little bridge near Tolos restaurant where everyone feeds the fishes. Is this so? When I look at satellite view there is no road??? Bit confused !!!! Can anyone confirm, deny, etc.

There is no new road but the area behind the sea inlet has been made into a nature walk around the La Gola area. I suspect it is this that you can see.

Problem is that the map showing the positions of hotels and apartments (presume this one is the map you are refering to) is out of date and inaccurate. It doesn´t show the new bye-pass at all but does show the `back street´that runs past the La Gola site as a main road. Time for an up-date?

If you are referring to the map you can download from our site on Maps of Pollensa, Puerto Pollensa Majorca Mallorca then Yes we will try & get it updated in the New Year. Unfortunately the google maps showing hotels are not up-to-date as Google have not updated their map or satelite image since the bypass was completed.

Bing maps appears to be much more up to date than google, only road maps though, no high quality satellite photos of Pollensa yet: ( great in some countries though)

why not just pop over and check it out first hand

Thanks for your replies. Worried about road because we have booked an apartment next year very near there. Hopefully still quiet !!! And I can still feed the fish.

I'm sure you will have no problems with the apartment and yes, the fish are still there and are always hungry.

Hi Just found this Spanish Gov "Ley de Costas" map which has the New Road satellite pictures. You can select Illes baleares from the box or just start zooming in from the world view

That is an excellent site, looks like the aerial photos that are used to check if anyone has done any illegal building work, even has plot boundaries

Yes Mark, I noticed that large House on the front, at the side of La Gola, is outside of the building line!! related to the "Ley de Costas" legislation

PS I got this site via the Spanish Property Insight Bulletin. It sometimes provides some good info on Mallorca.

well spotted , this house is the subject to a challenge at the European courts of appeal, as the costas department want it pulled down for the reason you state. The costas department seem to have lost all touch with reality and appear to be a law onto themselves. I understand they are likely to lose their case
