Hi everyone, I am coming over with my brother in Feb and have decided to get public transport from the Airport to PP BUT never done it before no idea what we need to do - can anyone help?

look at the resorthoppa.. i used it last august and it ends up being around £11 each way. and so easy to use. Good luck

Hi there - we were going to use it but the website only offered a private transfer for that time of year which was pretty pricey!

You can get a public bus from the airport to the bus station in Palma and then another bus from Palma to PP but it will depend on what day and time you arrive, unfortunately the timetable posted in Zelda's link is from 2009 and it is for the summer, winter times are different and i don't have a recent timetable but i will try to find out for you. The fare from Palma to PP was 5.55€ last year.

Although I haven't actually checked the times that I put on the website since 2009 on Transport in Puerto Pollensa, Majorca - taxis, bus, trains, airport transfers - the actual timetable that you can download is the latest one from the official website & is for May-Dec 2010. It doesn't appear to have different times for the Winter  but maybe what actually happens is different to the timetable!

I don't think they run as frequently in winter but will try to get hold of a timetable tomorrow.

The timetable for the Palma - PP bus is the same one all year round. Please note the last bus from the underground bus station in Palma is 20.30hrs Mon/Sun inc.

Note for Pollensa: The link for the address on the main site is wrong since the bus station moved 2 years ago to new (and better) position in Placa Espania.

Thanks guys - really appreciate the advice.

Hi as promised here is the timetable :-

Sundays/Fiestas = 7, 9, 11, 1, 3.30, 5 and 8.30pm.

Weekdays 7, 8, 9, 10.30, 11.30, 12.30, 2, 3, 4, 5.30, 6.30 and 8.30pm.

We tried for resort hoppa last year but didn't run end of October, used the Easyjet transfer service company worked out about 10 euro.

Do you need to have flown in with Easy Jet to use this service?

don't think you do, they have own web site as well Holidaytaxis.com, but having just checked they aren't running this feb dates go from 1 april unitl 31 march next year.

Thanks Sunny, always on the lookout for a bargain.;)

Also fancy catching the bus up from Palma next time, maybe get a taxi form the airport to the Plaça Espanya Intermodal Station, has anyone done this, I am guessing its around 15 mins and not too expensive. Is it easy to find the right bus at the bus station it will be a Saturday morning around 10 in June, perhaps not the best time to be trying it out for the first time, any advice would be welcome.
Thanks

Hi SWS, i am pretty sure that there is a regular bus from the airport to the bus station and would not cost much, the taxi fare would probably be around €5. Once in the bus station the boards clearly state the bay numbers for each service and i found it all very straight forward.:D

Public Bus from the airport

We've caught the public bus several times and it is easy.

You can hop on the No.1 bus at the airport and get off at Placa Espanya. You pay on board and it cost just over 1 euro per person last year. From there, go down the escalator or steps to the bus station area - this means going down two levels. (By the way, there is a very good, air conditioned and reasonably priced cafe on the first level you arrive at).

Then go down to the lower level and the 340 service to PP comes in on stand no.5. Once again, you pay the driver so no need to buy tickets up front. This bus goes directly up the motorway and only stops in Pollensa (several times) before making its way to Puerto Pollensa. We got off at the main stop by the marina roundabout in Puerto Pollensa. Sorry, but I cannot remember the price but it was well under 10 euros pp. I also noticed that this service is very wheelchair friendly. The driver and a colleague took great care when loading a wheelchair passenger into the coach. :)
