Great views, but above a bar? Not very peaceful-

There is a beautiful apartment above Tolos but this is not the one Joelise means. Trouble is I can't remember the name of them either

Oh yes i think i know the ones you mean, they have a bit of garden in front of the and were painted a dark sandy brown colour.

Sibaris looks great but they don't appear to have balconies, which with a view like that you definitely need.

The lack of balcony does kill it doesn't it, that's the only reason I was never tempted, maybe OK for the winter but to feel the sea air in a morning when you have that first cup of tea on the balcony is an essential part of the holiday experience

After yet more research I have found an apartment block that we would love to stay in. It is the Ancora building next to Hotel Romantic. The only problem is, the apartments I have found have 3 bedrooms for up to 6 people, but there are only two of us. The apartments look lovely but a bit big for a couple and a bit expensive for only two people. Does anyone know if there are smaller apartments in this building, or have any couples stayed in them on their own?

Thanks for the reply Sparky. The apartment looks lovely but unfortunately it is booked for the week that we want. We are still searching but are hopeful we will find what we are looking for

Thanks for the message, we have already tried this apartment, but because we are tied to a particular week, it was booked up.

I am pleased to say we have now found a lovely apartment exactly where we wanted to stay, thanks to an enquiry I made at another property which was unavailable. The owner kindly gave me the email address of a private owner and it has all worked out perfectly

Everyone has been so helpful that I have been in touch with, and on this forum.

Another year I will make sure I book a year in advance and it might be less stressful.

What about the apartments on the front with the large round windows, near to Tolos? I can not remember what they are called but we always walk past thinking that the views must be amazing

yes the apartments next tolos with the round windows are called Gola.
We stayed in the top floor apartment 2 years ago, was a great place with a lovley roof terrace as well as a double balcony. You could laze in bed in the morning with a cuppa and see the port from your bed.

If you want a great front line apartment with seaviews, then rent this place.

We just came back from a week staying there, and although the weather was lousy, the apartment was lovley.
Its owned by a spanish chap who lives in town, really nice guy who brought us home made ensaimadas for breakfast at the weekend
