On Thursday, day 5 of our holiday, we had lunch in our apartment but in the evening we headed out on the Tapas Trail or Ruta del Tapeo as it is known locally. It was a fantastic night and we made it to 5 bars in the end.

Our first destination was The Rustic Cafe. Unfortunately Jonny wasn't feeling hungry so only I had a tapa. And this was their delicious sausage and onions wrapped in a pancake.

The sausages at the bar

Salted Padron Peppers

Next up was the Ivy Garden 49. Unlike last year, when we got a mini feast, the tapa at the Ivy Garden was much smaller. It was smoked salmon on half a boiled egg plus something I couldn't identify in mayo. Was very tasty though, as was the wine!

We sat out in their courtyard which was lovely, but it was a shame lit wasn't up by fairy lights like it was last year.

To be continued...

Part 2

Next up it was our fave bar, The Music Bar. They had a big and varied selection of food on offer.

It all looked delicious but I went for some chicken drumsticks. Jonny by now was feeling hungry and he had the chicken nuggets.

Part 3

Next we went to Bar Junior. Here I had some crisp breads covered with cream cheese and topped with a chorizo slice and something delicious but unidentified!

Their pool table was free so we had a quick game.

Part 4

The other tapas at Bar Junior all looked delicious as well.

Finally, on to our final bar of the night. I have to admit that after 4 large glasses of wine my memory is a little fuzzy so I am now not sure if it was Cafe d'Eu Moll or Geminis 18! Anyway, the tapas from this bar was my least favourite of the evening. Wine was still nice though!

By now I figured I had had enough wine and fancied some pudding. So we headed over to Ben & Jerry's for some lovely ice cream.

So all in all, it was a fantastic night. If you are in Puerto Pollensa I absolutely recommend you join the trail.

One final thing, my fame had preceded me - Denise from the Ruta recognised me and insisted on taking our photo:

More fab pics Simon, so pleased that you had a good time and lovely to see a photo of you both :D.

It was Gemini's who were serving the mini burger and Spanish omelette tapas. I quite liked it! Good to see your photos and also those on the Facebook page, if only to serve as a reminder of what we actually ate! As you say, it does get a little fuzzy towards the end!

Really interesting post. I don't think I've seen anyone report on the tapas trail before.....perhaps someone might set up a separate thread and give some pointers to those of us who have yet to try this very interesting idea.

Must say the alcohol/food ratio seems a bit skewed towards hangover country! :D

Disorderly here is the link to the "sticky" thread near the top of this section :- http://www.forum.puertopollensa.com...493-ruta-del-tapeo-pps-own-tapas-route-5.html, lots of members have posted their experiences ;).

Thanks Sparky.....I'd not seen that before. Absolutely on the radar for our next summer trip in 2014. Looks like fun.

Ah, thanks Cat!

Yes, it is skewed that way. But for an extra €1 you can get another tapas without the drink. Must say I always paid the extra €0.50! Having said that your drink could be a mineral water as part of the €1.50 (that is what Jonny drank of course).

Thanks mate. The Music Bar is two doors down from the British Food Store, next to Multi-Hire and opposite the Flora apartments. Hope that helps.
