Hi

I am thinking of coming to Puerto Pollensa for New Year and go to Stay as I think that it is open then? Has anyone done this and if so would it be suitable for me with 2 children aged 4 and 5 to take along?

Thanks:)

I have never been to Stay for NYE but i know it is quite a grand affair and last year it cost €148 per person. I don't know if they do a childrens menu on the night but maybe you could email them for more info, contact details are here :- Stay Restaurant.

Thanks Sparky. Probably not for us if it's a grand affair. The kids will run riot!
I just fancied a visit that time of year and I knew it was open.

Thanks for advice :)

There are always a number of restaurants/bars open which might well be more suitable and cheaper, obviously it's a bit too early yet but i will start a list nearer the time ;).

personally would not go to stay on NYE as a bit expensive although I'm told it is a great night

having spend many ner'day nights in pp would suggest sticking to around the square area if kids in tow ;)

So around the square then there are places open that I could take the kids to? I haven't been this time of year so I have no idea how different it may be?

yes gp there are many, I can assure you pp in winter is very different...!!!

what age are the wee ones?

They are 3 and 5. We have been in late October before but it was still quite busy then and of course when we come in summer it is heaving!

Well the youngest will turn 4 actually if we came whilst we are away

would suggest trio for use and the wee ones for NYE gp usually a band type thing on till the bells then a bit of dancing etc after well priced forty a headish for adults less for the weans good night too tbh had many a good night in there NYE when the the bluebells were younger, usual places in square open after bells nostalgia, mulligans, o'haras etc but may be bit much for your kiddies, plenty of local places open too though, enjoy ;)

Thanks so much, you've been fab giving me just the info that I need :)

I thought Trio was closing at the end of the season, with Tango moving from Sa Vostra and reopening in the vacated premises??

Yes it is El Gordo but i am not sure about when the changeover will actually happen .

And I don't think they know for sure either, but Manolo from Tango is taking the winter off this year for the first time, to spend time with his new grandchildren(twins) and his wife. I do know Trio have accepted a large booking for early December .

We have spent three New years eves in Pollensa the first two years we booked a meal at Clivia and the celebrations that go with it and then last year we went to Stay for lunch (normal menu) and then just had snacks in the evening before going into town to see in the New year. We thoroughly enjoyed both options the latter being considerably cheaper.

As I want to take small children, in your experiences have there been other children about that they may get to play with in the square? My husband is telling me it will be too quiet for them?!

Too Quite in the square for young ones. No chance, there will be more than you can shake a stick at. Not that I would of course ;)

Pollensafan, that's made me laugh :) especially after reading your post about your forthcoming trip to PP. Have a good holiday, lucky you :)
