we are visiting for a short break kids free . looking for advice on best places for food and atmosphere for daytime and evening meals atthis time of year (sunday monday tuesday )

Hi there

You must try Hell's Kitchen if you are happy with good home cooked food, some British, some not. Lovely surroundings and I believe that the Sunday roast is very good (didn't try that) but we had MDD including soup, steak pie and mash, gammon steak (very good) and apple crumble and custard. MDD is €15.50 including wine, bread and olives.

I agree. this was probably one of the best meals we had while we were out in PP in July.

on sunday do the market in pollenca old town and lunch at numero ocho in the sq.. v good
in the port stay or la longa ..then another is corb marie in the port v good..

Which is Numero Ocho - is it in the main square? I don't think I've ever spotted it - or has it changed its name? What sort of food do they serve?

Numbero Ocho think it opened about may june it is inbetween juma and cafe lilla.. very nice not cheap but great food.. also I forgot to put on the other one ST Malo it is the owner of el moli on the edge of town.. this is on the main road of pollenca not far from the bus stops.. its painted bright blue really good .. bit french feel about it!!

We were in PP for the last week in August with daughter, son & 6 mth old granddaughter. It was hot! And I wilted on the, normally delightful, walk along the Pine Walk for lunch in the Port. So....we ended up having lunch on the Illa d'Or terrace- a couple of minutes from the apartment.

Yes, it was more expensive (but not hugely) than the Port and the MDDs but the food was excellent - and what a setting! The lunch menu was not huge and fairly simple. The sea bream was great - and I had a brilliant Spanish omelette. OH had an excellent pizza. If the weather is nice enough to sit outside, it might be worth considering.

Thanks for great tips re. Numero Ocho, ST Malo and the Illa D'Or - all new places to us and we will definitely try them. I'lla D'Or seems to be getting lots of good feedback this year, both as somewhere to eat and somewhere to have a drink - always assumed in the past that it would be wildly expensive but it's all relative these days!
