2 Pine Walk villas being demolished

Anyway, someone's got to be able to afford the no doubt extortionate price to buy the site, then fees to develop it and the building costs in the hope that people in this current economic climate then buy !!!

So all's not lost yet.............

As I pointed out, the owners of the site are already experienced property professionals, with many years experience of the market in P.P. They have put together a proposal with CGI impressions of a luxury apartment block development and have asked for expressions of interest. By the fact that the proposals are no longer on their web site, we can presume that either there was no interest and the project has been shelved, or they have had sufficient interest to stop marketing the development. If we take the latter to be the case, then it is likely that they would 'pre-sell' a number of the units in order to fund the development.

Hi, this is my first posting on the forum although I used the site last year for information prior to holidaying in PP. We have just booked again for August but I am a little concerned that we will be staying near a building site as I understand our apartment is not far from Little Italy or if our apartment has a building attached which is about to be knocked down!!!. Also, although we stayed in PP last year I am a bit confused about where Los Pescadors is/was as I was looking forwarding to eating at a place I thought was called Pescador. Took me ages to convince my family to come back to PP - not because they didn't enjoy it they just wanted to try somewhere else, but having had a stressful year so far I wanted to go somewhere familiar, hoping I won't regret this decision.

Shellyz, Don't you worry about a thing. There may be a tad of building work on the pine walk but it dose'nt change the total laid back feeling that iv'e been getting for decades. I was there in feb, back in june, and september. Just find you're prefered spot take a glass of you're favorite tipple and sit back. I guarantee the old magic will wash over you , enjoy.:):)

Shellyz, the Pine Walk villas next to Little Italy are now fully demolished and the land flattened and cordened off. It will probably remain like this now until after the summer as there are restrictions on building work during the season.

Los Pescadores was a fish restaurant nor far from Little Italy which was demolished, and now is very posh looking apartments. Again, no major works will be carried out during the season. Pescadore is a more basic style restaurant right at the beginning of the Pine Walk, near Corb Mari, and is now open.

You have nothing to worry about at all. Enjoy this gorgeous island.

Thanks for the replies, just had a bit of a panic, I'm sure we will enjoy ourselves as much as we did last year. It was the Pescadore restaurant I was thinking of, that threw me a bit!! We stayed just behind the Pescadore last year but left it too late to re-book the same apartment this year. I am already counting down the weeks until I can relax and do very little for two weeks.

My other half agreed to come back to PP if we could hire a car for a few days this year and drive around the island. Can anyone recommend car hire companies in PP and maybe the best places to visit with a 14 & 16 year old in tow?

Thanks

Shell

Send them off on the bus to the waterpark in Alcudia for the day and then have yourselves a lovely drive to Lluc monastery and then onwards through the mountains to soller or valdermosa returning more quickly via the tunnel
