Just seen an article on Daily Mail online about chaos at Palma Airport because of floods!
Looks grim.

There's definitely a change with the weather. We seem to hear of more extreme episodes throughout the world.
It can be so destructive! It's worrying.

We flew in yesterday early evening after waiting 3 hours on the tarmac at Gatwick.

It was a chaotic and sad scene when arrived, Terminal A was rammed. People sitting on the floor and massive queues at food outlets. A quick look at the departures board showed all flights were either delayed or cancelled. It was so sad.
In the terminal, there were lots of puddles, e gates and escalators not working.

On the plus side, our EasyJet crew were absolutely fantastic. The Captain came out of his cabin facing us and keeping us updated. The cabin crew were informative and funny and saying “we are all in this together”. They organised drinks and cockpit visits during the 3 hour wait. I didn’t hear anyone complain.
It was an exercise in how to handle a difficult situation.

My goodness. Glad you had a sensible crowd on your flight when dealing with such a long delay. Such a shame for any families trying to amuse kiddies.
I hope the weather improves for you.

#3 That’s as may be, but it would help (judging by one of the clips that I have watched) if the builders could construct a roof that was watertight..

To be fair to the airport, they did seem to get things moving again pretty quickly considering what they were up against. We were supposed to fly in on that date but my son asked us to look after two grandchildren while he and my daughter in law went to see the Foo Fighters in Manchester. We changed our flights at great expense….which turned out to be a very lucky break! Coming out on Sunday now so , but forecast looks fine. I see Ryanair were cancelling flights left right and centre as soon as trouble hit! My sympathies to those affected by the rain.

Flew out yesterday evening (Mondayand noticed the fields around the airport still had a lot of standing water in them.

We were actually stuck in multi-story for two hours cos it was biblical! staff were actually coming out to film it was that extraordinary. Stayed in Cala Figuera - so didn't get up to PP - just booked for 9 days Sept/Oct.
