It's very sad - we went for a meal there on Monday evening, which was when the bombshell was dropped. He seemed quite hopeful that he would be able to open up elsewhere - there are a number of suitable properties vacant at present - so let's hope it all works out.

Btw the meal was every bit as good as in previous years - really excellent in fact - it's still our Number One in PP...

Before La Roda it was a Chinese called La Vila and i think before that it was La Vall or something like that.

Yes, it was Cafeteria La Vall. Serving, primarily, a very cheap MDD - authentic Mallorcan cooking - we ate there loads as it was such a bargain. Can't remember when it closed - possibly the early 2000s? We were sad to see it go so hope the new, revitalised version is as good!

Another one bites the dust ...... ?

Humble apologies if I've missed a post somewhere ...... O'Lume ? Demise ?

Oh No....

But I am sure he will come up with a plan. Perhaps a place on the front which would attract more people through the doors as the food was really good.

I wish him well and as soon as he gets a place I hope Sparky lets us know so that we can attend.

The problem is that the front line properties command very high rents and the owners here don't help because they won't reduce the fees in the winter :(.

I'd settle for a BBQ and a few deck chairs if Jaimes in charge of the food & wine .... although maybe not over winter ;)

I may have got mixed up with somewhere else but wasn't O'Lume going to close last year then it didn't happen after all?
