Sleepyboaby,
Yes that was us, Fussies and Fussiefriends. All the youngsters having returned to UK. I had my back to the rest of the courtyard and other than a large party of spanish in the centre not sure who was there.

Mr Fussie

El Ancla mixed paella was heaven last week, Llienaire still as good as ever slightly different this year had chicken and pork (no bones) first time I've had cauli flower and courgettes in Paella very creamy.

Bella, I have to say best paella for me every time is Los Faroles and to sit there on a Sunday afternoon when the Spanish come from far and near to sample their wares it really is a great atmosphere.

Thanks for making the decision even harder uatw! One can only manage so many paellas in a week you know!

That will be mine, cooked at home on the Saturday we got back from PP:)!!! so say's the better half anyway, and she is always right!:D

All these husbands who cook for their wives! - I think I have grounds for divorce lol

I would like the recipe for a typical Mallorcan seafood paella (no meat!) if anyone has one? Thanks
(to give to my husband, of course!!)

Best paella.

Son and girlfriend arriving in puerto pollensa on sundau staying in the pollensa park area both students and on a tight budget wonderd if anyone can recomend somewhere near by for a good and reasonabley priced paella.

Almost opposite the Pollensa Park is a restaurant called "IkeBana" owned and run by Jose and Anakati, their Paella is well known and is excellent, they serve this as the menu of the day on Sundays but if you want to eat it on a different day then order the day before as Jose insists on fresh ingredients.

I forgot mention it is very cheap.

El Ancla next door to the Hotel Romantic, a table out on the terrace, great view of the bay. Fantastic Paella, reasonable price, fresh ingredients and no need to order the day before but because it's cooked to order you will have a bit of a wait :D.

Hi Sparky, Have to agree 100%. Do you know if ever that place goes up for sale. I would have to be added to the list under " Fixtures and fittings ".:)

Not paella, but if your sons on a tight budget then the various Chinese restaurants do a perfectly decent 3 courser for around 8/9 euros, with a drink included.

Hello, I'm new in the forum, but wanted to add info about El Ancla: We read about El Ancla in the P.P. Forum, recommended for its paella, and we were not disappointed! The place doesn't look like anything, and we wouldn't have gone in, if we hadn't heard about it before. On a Saturday for lunch, the only guests were locals, as it seemed (March 30). They only have one type of paella, it didn't say which kind, but it turned out to be mixed. We waited for 50 minutes from the time we ordered, which I write in a positive manner, since good paella takes time! The taste was wonderful, the rice perfect and moist, and the paella filled with shellfish and chicken and pork, and lots of fresh vegetables. The bill came to Euro 39 for three people, drinks included! Thanks to the forum for good advice!

I too recommend El Ancla, recommend also by the lovely Lorenzo from Condes taxis, sat out on their beautiful terrace today and thoroughly enjoyed the mixed paella, bottle of rosé and their bread and olives to start, finished with coffees. Ordered then took a little walk, table was all set for our return. 34.30 a lovely afternoon after the morning market.....now sitting at Marina Cafe, hubby watching football, me drinking Cava....weather...nice and warm at 9.30pm.:)

oh what a wonderful picture you paint - never had paella at El Ancia but my sister and I always call for a coffee as our morning treat when we do our pre breakfast walk from Illa D'Or to Llenaire pier and back ( usually lasts a coupe of days and then best intentions and all that lol )

I think I may repeat your day next Wednesday

Ruth and Favie i am so pleased to hear that you have tried the paella at El Ancla and enjoyed it, not that i am surprised. I have had paella in many of the restaurants here over the last 30 years and for me none of them can beat El Ancla. As you say, it takes a while but who cares when you have that wonderful view from the terrace and another bonus is that it won't break the bank ;):D.
