This report from the UH Nace un pollo de buitre leonado en la Fundació Voltor Negre de Campanet » Part Forana » Noticias » Ultima Hora Mallorca

Born a chicken griffon vulture in the Foundation Voltor Negre de Campanet.

The per the Conservació of Voltor Negre (BVCF) on the estate Son Pons Campanet Foundation has welcomed the birth of a chicken griffon vulture (Gyps fulvus), copy to try to free a few months in the program of reintroduction into the wild in the collaboration of the entity. The evolution of the animal, born on Monday, is optimal and is now working towards their liberation, the foundation reported in a statement. The chicken griffon vulture is the first born in captivity at the center surviving after the birth of another breeding of the same parents in 2012. Breeding is a pair of vultures that inhabit Son Pons by their inability to live in freedom. The mother, 25, and father of 15, have physical injuries that prevent them from leading an independent life in the wild. The director of the BVCF, Juan José Sánchez, explained that the intention is to be sent to Bulgaria in about three months for release in the mountains of the Balkans, in the framework of the reintroduction of the species in which the Foundation collaborates with local authorities and the Bulgarian government in a Life Project of the European Union.

The black vulture chick is getting bigger by the day and is now attempting to stand up, carefully watched by Mother

It certainly is, Dads there as well now!

And on German webcam yesterday, caught Mummy stork stretching her legs and there appear to be 4 eggs in the nest waiting to hatch. Eggciting!!!

Victor (yes i know i am sad but i had to give it a name) had a little walk with mummy yesterday evening, not very far but definitely out of the nest :D ;).

I have trouble enough telling the difference between a male and female blackbird! I'm impressed that you know its a Victor rather than a Victoria Vulture Sparky! Twitcher extraordinaire ~ well done! :)

Noticed Herr Stork busy doing some nest tidying/repairs this morning before he sets off to work :)

Yes, mum to be was titivating once he flew off. Nest is looking really tidy now! Just needs a mobile hanging over the nest and all will be ready! ;)

Mummy vulture is sitting in the most peculiar way at the moment with her wings folded around the baby chick. Not sure if she's protecting it from something, shading it from the sun or just her way of giving it a cuddle! Looks very sweet though :)

It's shading it from the sun I think! Sorry not it, she is shading Victor from the sun

I thought that was Victor at first sparky so I screen shot the video so I could zoom, and I think it's a white rock

If it is him he hasn't moved for ages....and where's mum? :(
