Booster Seats Law in Spain

I am about to hire a car for our stay in August. I have a 7 and 9 year old, do they need booster seats in Spain. My 9 year old is over 140cm tall so does not need one in the UK?

I think EU regulations will apply so if ok in the UK ok over here but if anyone can add...

Good point but can you hire booster seats? I only see baby seats advertised on the hire sites.
