Broadband from Movistar

I asked because I have been told that apart from phoning to ask them to suspend the Internet line you also have to take back the router and get another one on your return.

If this is done, the land line only costs € 14 including tax.

Very impressed so far with Movistar. Discussed their superfast broadband service with an agent at 11am last Wednesday; just drying off after a swim that afternoon when phone rang and I was told that technician was at my apartment now - all fitted and working fine by 5.30pm. That is what I call service.

I am pretty useless with anything technical so would be grateful if someone could answer a couple of queries

1) The package comes with a landline. I have a spare phone handset back home in the UK and would like to know if it is compatible with Spanish phone system.

2) We will be spending quite a bit of off-season time in our apartment - so access to UK TV would be appreciate. I have read previous postings re the Filmon website but I am not sure how you actually access it via the internet. Someone has suggested to me to buy a very basic laptop computer and HDMI leads (whatever they are!). But for a technophobe like me this seems a bit fiddly. Any advice welcomed.

In answer to your questions Luckjon;

1. An English phone would not be compatible as the Spanish phone plug is different.

2. Re. Filmon. I use Apple TV to stream wirelessly from the Filmon app on my IPad. I believe there are other types of boxes you can use if you don't have Apple products, perhaps somebody else can suggest some alternatives.

In theory they should have given you a phone. If not, they are very cheap to buy.

Apparently depends on your TV. I use FILMON to watch UK TV on my computer and iPad, downloading straight from the internet.

You may possibly get a better or faster reception if you plugged your computer into the router with these cables.

Maybe someone else could answer that question.

They don't supply a phone but you can buy them in any of the electrical appliance shops.
