Has anyone been to this town,have just read a little bit in a magazine that says its really pretty with lots of windmills and a twenty minute drive from puerto pollensa.

Never been ...... but the kids used to have a field day shouting out its name ( pronounced in good old british accents to get maximum effect ) as we saw the sign ....... was one of the moments that will go down as lifetime PP memories

Cd our kids used to do the same and just today friends we are out with yelled it out as we passed the sign. Some people never grow up

We have driven through Buger several times on the way back from lunch at Menestralia if we fancied the scenic route rather than the motorway. It is very pretty but I don´t know much else about it. We need to send an explorer !

From what I can remember, it is a very small village, with a windmill behind the church. A small square with a couple of bars. Some lovely views that you come across when walking around the narrow roads - but nothing much else to write home about. It was two or three years ago though, but I cant imagin it has changed much.

Even a write up struggles to find something to say!

"A five minute walk takes you to the village of Buger (pronounced Boojah!) with its four unique windmills, three bars (one does a good bacon and egg breakfast, and sometimes serves evening meals), a great bakery, basic provisions store, post office and of course a lovely old church. There is a small Saturday market but it's all over by 11:30!"

Every time we go past the sign my OH goes 'Well Buger me' just gets so predictable really ! I remember the couple who have La Forteleza live there - thats about its only claim to fame I can remember!

The island has many of these little villiages. Bugar was pushed by agents a few years ago when I was first looking to buy. I was told it was up and coming as English who didn't have the budget for Pollensa were buying there! I'm glad I wasn't gulliable and hung on until I could afford Pollensa as no contest!
The lights went off and no one was home!

For some reason I cant hear the translation, but the "j" is pronounced as an "h" in Spanish so I think thats what you mean, and certainly is the way I think it is pronounced!

The pronounciation of the Spanish "G" as i understand it here is very gutteral, it sounds like you are clearing your throat.
That said, do we really need to be so serious about it, i think most of us were just having a bit of fun.....childish maybe...but fun anyway. Lets not get too heavy guys....pleeeez.

The J is a similar sound to a G but softer, the G has a lot more accent to it, a lot more flemmy, sorry couldn't think of a better way of saying it, anyway we should ask one of the locals for the definative answer, surely they will know
