Yes just!Can you afford it?!
Thanks TangomanHi Dilly
You said that you have been coming to PP for 10 years.
"Anything you need to know?".
Ask yourself, why do you keep coming back? Lucky you, enjoy!!![]()
I have been coming for approx. 25 years+, and I suspect that you are quite correct - the little motorbike was almost certainly more than 10 years ago, to my mind, (although I could be wrong).
Saw this thread and thought we were going to have a discussion of the various butterflies of Mallorca!
You do not say if you are buying a holiday home or moving over, that would help to know.
If its a just a holiday home, you are lucky because there are a lot to choose from, which is good if you are buying, not so if you are selling. If its a long term purchase then that needn't worry you, but if its just short term for investment, then you should consider what the position would be like when you come to sell.
We have been looking at property for the last 20 years, and we have certainly seen places up for sale for 2, 3 and even more years, something to bear in mind!!
Debz1, if you can't afford underfloor heating, have you thought of slippers?
Thanks for that DeanscroftMake sure you are aware of all the running costs. The one that many people tend to forget is the Non-resident property owners tax. Basically if you own a property but are not living in it then it is taxed as if you are getting an income from it. In round figures every year you pay a tax of about 0.5% of the registered value.
Haha even with slippers you feel the cold floors. It sort of gets into your bones, and once you're cold it's hard to get warm. I am definitley going to invest in an electric blanket for our next winter visit as the sheets were icy cold too![]()
