yes it is its on the left just further on if you are walking away from the Port you will see what looks like a Lock Up Garage

I have used the Renault dealer/garage for over 5 years and have
found them helpful & reliable, so I suggest popping in to see them
in Pollensa, opposite the Petrol/Diesel station.

This is good advice, also remember you have to pay local car tax to the council and agencia tributaria. Definitely buy from trade as your first car

Segundo Mano is a good site and you can choose from professional or private adverts - log into site and choose Baleares and you can see a good varity of cars available across the Island.
Also, I once again think that the facebook second hand mallorca can have some good deals as often genuine reasons for sale.....

A brief update ... We've paid a deposit for a car which we'll take ownership of when we're back in July. Found it through a friend of a friend who has a garage. It's quite old, but if it sees me through 5.5 weeks in the summer will work out cheaper than car hire!

Wanted to make a special mention about Euromax cars - Max has been very helpful and we'll certainly talk to him next time we're looking.
