Shut at the moment. Used to be great but I've never been back since seeing a rat run along one of the beams(yes I know im a wimp):(

l'd heard Dudley was not very well when we were there last September and that it might not open in 2010 - do hope it does, l love it there.

Definitely closed, there is a rumour that a English couple have bought it but i am told they will need to spend a lot of time and money on it so they can obtain an opening certificate.
Dudley is still a very ill man.

Can Pacienci/Dudley

To all fans of the man and his restaurant, I have the latest on Dudley. He is living in the square in PP. The restaurant went bankrupt owing to the cost of his ill-health. He is currently very poorly with Crones and has had most of his intestines removed. I am sure you will join me in wishing him well and treasure the memories he and his restaurant gave to many many people.

It was very sad to pass last week and see it closed, we wish Dudley all the very best, we had many very happy times over the years with both Dudley and his parents before him.

That's such sad news. We were recommended to the restaurant by a client of mine in the UK over 15 years ago who knew the Dudley! It lived up to the recommendation and so sorry to hear what has happened.

Just like to point out that the chef from Can Pacienci is now working at Nostalgia, in the square at PP, and doing a very good job - introducing quite a few Thai dishes to the menu (he's married to a Thai). So part of that Can Pacienci experience carries on to this day.

We too are sorry to hear Can Pacienci has closed we remember when Dudley used to be the chef and have been visiting every year since 1982. Will have to visit Nostalgia when we return does anyone know where Al the waiter from Can Pacienci has gone is he working in another restaurant.

You won't find Dudley in Nostalgia  but you will find Ross who was the chef in Can P. ;)

Many moons ago Dudley was the chef at Can Pacienci and his parents were front of house cannot remember mums name but dads name was Norman. I did know that it would be Ross as Nostalgia not Dudley we have also met Ross on several occasions. When we knew Can Pacienci was having problems we thought maybe Ross would take it over but will definately try Nostalgia as he is an excellant chef.

Shame about Dudley we used to go there at least once per trip over the past 16 years that I know of (photos to proove). As for AL the waiter I am afraid he does NOT speak very highly of Doug. Praising him!!!! I don't think so.

Where is ALonso now.

Any one now where Alonso has gone to, he was great always made us feel rarther special each time we visited. Can Pacienci was one of my faviorate places to eat. Dudley was just Dudley. I found the food outstanding.

Hi
My mothers name was Phyllis & my father was Norman Rose..we opened Can Pacienci in 1974 my mother was the chef & my dad was front of house with me (Sue Rose) & Al joined us a year later.
Dudley joined us in 1976! the rest is history! Norman & Phyllis have now passed away.
Sadly I've lost contact with my brother Dudley...if anyone could keep me updated regarding Dudley's health it would be much appreciated.
Very sad news that Can Pacienci has now closed! the end of an era!:(
It's good to hear Ross is still a Chef in Puerto Pollensa :) any news on Al anybody??? he is such a lovely man! :) hope to hear from someone soon...many thanks

Hi Sue,

It is indeed the end of an era, we first went to Can Pacienci in September 1976 to celebrate my friends 21st birthday and have gone ever since. We remember your dad very well, he was an excellent host, only last year Al was talking about him and the great times they had together.
We were last in PP in August and spoke to Dudley's daughter, Eva, who is now working for her family in Pancho's restaurant, unfortunately she told us that her Dad is still very ill. We are back in PP in the middle of October and if you wish could pass a message on. (if you make another post we will be able to communicate using the private message system)

Best Wishes

Thanks for your reply & news regarding Dudley I feared that his health had not improved.
It was good to hear that Eva is working in C'an Pancho's with the family.... are Enrique & Katy still working there?
Norman was indeed a fine host & a great story teller I miss him very much & I have many happy memories of C'an Pacienci & Pto Pollensa.
Please let me know if you hear any more news & if you see Alonso around send him my love.
Have a good trip in October
Best Wishes
