CANCER SUCKS ~ Charity Lunch

We all know how great the community has been with raising money for the Cancer charity, and here's another great event for people to attend if possible.

Hosted by a very hard working lady - Usandthewoof - who has asked me to advertise on the forum for those who haven't seen the facebook advert.

Full details are being finalised, but here is the initial information;


A celebration of life ! Lunch with friends to raise money for charities supporting people affected by cancer. All food and wine has very kindly been donated by Julie at Siurell Restaurant, Llenaire and so every cent spent will go directly to charity.

To be held at Restaurant Siurell on Friday November 7th at 1pm.
Price of ticket will be finalised a little later, but will probably be between €20 - €25, and will include Tapas, Lechona or Fish, Veg or salad, Wine and water, and the great British favourite ......... A Raffle!!

What a wonderful thing to do and how kind of Julie at Siurell to donate the food and wine. I am just sorry I am unable to attend due to the fact that like so many families, cancer is touching my family too.

I think everyone knows someone who has or is fighting this terrible disease. Only yesterday we heard of the sad passing of Lynda Bellingham. Cancer needs to be kicked into touch and quick so every penny raised is a step closer.

Well done usandthewoof, Julie and of course Bella. I hope you raise lots of money and have a lovely lunch too. Wonderful that every euro will go to this worthy cause.

An absolutely fantastic turnout yesterday with over 3,000.00 euros raised by lunch tickets, raffle tickets, t shirt sales and auctions , then another amazing donation to bring the total to 5,000.00, although we are still awaiting confirmation on that addition, Julie did an amazing buffet with her staff, providing the tastiest buffet ever and included wine too. Some great baking was added to by various other contributors bringing in extra donations. The restaurant had balloons and bunting, and the sun shon all day.
The organisation skills were top notch with lots of fun as well as understanding for the cancer charities we were donating to.
Well done and thank you to all who contributed in any way. Puerto Pollensa comes up trumps yet again!
