The weather was a bit undecided one day so we took ourselves off to explore the Formentor peninsular. It is quite an exciting drive, very wind-ey with big drops down to the sea, worth stopping at the Miradors to admire the views, particularly the first big one where there are alwasy cars parked, with good reason. Mirador des Colomer, wonderful bit of untouched Mallorca.
The lighthouse is very romantic right at the end, we noticed as we were leaving that the car park is pretty small and there were lots of people arriving, and it is only a single track road... a strong recommendation would be to go early as a queue was forming and there would be no chance of turning around...
Quite a bit of info about the wild life there, but I would have liked to know more of the history, when it was built, by whom and how they managed it as the road looked fairly recent and you could see old tracks near the road, did they use mules to bring building materials???
