Car Hire Excess

Can you knowledgeable folk help me with a question, please?

We have been coming to PP for years and are arriving for a two week villa holiday on Saturday. We always use the excellent (in my experience) Goldcar for car hire, and while I know that some of you object to the "collect it full, bring it back empty" fuel policy, I actually find that really hassle free.

In many previous visits I've paid extra to delete the insurance excess and protect wheels, tyres, glass, keys and underbody. In fact last year we had a blowout, requiring a completely new (and expensive!) tyre and were refunded in cash by Goldcar at Palma airport without any question or problem.

Because we go away a few times every year, my wife is suggesting that we take an annual insurance policy with insurance4carhire.com.

Do any of you have any feedback on this policy?

Pollensa accept what you are saying (I have had from inception) but are you/anyone aware of someone who has had to make a claim and was the outcome satisfactory? Luckily I have never had to claim but just wondering in case I ever have to.

Thanks for that link, Pollensa. Yes, I'd be very interested to hear from anyone who has made a claim on insurance 4 car hire - that's the test! Paying Goldcar is certainly more expensive but I do at least know that it works if a tyre gets trashed!
