Car Hire in the Port

I visit PP a couple times a year, I have for many years always hired a car from the airport for the whole holiday. When i visited in April I decided to try a holiday without a car and i enjoyed it. However I am visiting in Oct and might want to hire a car to visit Soller/Palma for the day - who would you recommend for 1 day hire?

For booking a few days hire while in the port, I think Lagoon was the best I have found before.

However, have got some great deals from booking in advance over t'internet with Vanrell for a few days hire.

Slightly off topic, but why not take the bus and train to Palma/Soller, cheaper and easier with no parking or driving, stay later and have a meal there as well, just a thought

SWS - i've looked at the bus times and might go over to Pt Soller/Soller in the morning - then go into Palma and get the last bus home, just wanted to possibly stay in Palma later than 8.30pm.....
I hope the bus drivers take their time up into the mountains tho'.....it's bad enough in the car!!!

Great journey by bus into Soller, where you can sit back, relax and take in the fantastic scenery, without the worry of if you are going to come face to face with a bus coming in the oposite direction around the next corner! To quote an old phrase 'Let the bus take the strain'.

Could Forum friends also confirm a point regarding car hire. We are arriving in Palma on 1st Oct and plan to get the transfer with Resorthopper. On 16th Oct we would like to hire a car from Vanrells or Motos Formentor in the Port. We are returning home on 22nd Oct. Will it be ok for us to drive to the airport & leave it in the multi storey car park at the appropriate desk?

Also will it be cheaper to book the car online, or just pop into the office during our holiday to sort out? Thanks in advance!!!

I can only comment on Motos Formentor, you certainly can leave it at the airport... in fact you can collect it from there if you wish to save other transfer costs... and they operate the full/full tank policy.
They have never let me down.

holiday autos on line, you usually get sub contracted to Hiper in the port but at a better price
