Car Hire v's taxi costs

Anyone any suggestions on the best value car hire companies and taxis on the island.
I've been browsing the net but it is taking forever.
Myself and my wife and 2 small children are flying into Palma on the 6th of May. As we have orginised our own accomdation so need to get our own transport to PP. We would normally hire a car for most of our holiday anyway so this is no real inconvienence to us.
My in laws are flying out on the 10th to stay in PP with us and they will need to be picked up in Palma as they dont drive .
I looking for the best value in a 6 seater car but not neccessarily a full size SUV/People carrier, something like a Fiat Multipla or a Peugeot 307 SW would do fine.
I would also like to get an idea of the cost of a taxi/minibus for 6 people from PP to Palma.
Any advise or suggestions would be a help,

I can recommend Carjet as being very competitive.

They use local companies and although there is sometimes a wait at the desk, the prices are great and the cars very good.

Have used them lots of times

Last year we had a VW Touran which was great for 7 of us without being massive ( they are a bot like a Zafira ) BUT be aware the 6th and 7th seat go wher ethe luggage would normally go so it is a bit of a squeeze and you will end up with luggage on your knees .. but we managed with 5 adults and 2 teens so you should be ok

Also for Taxis I would really recommend Alicia from Zara taxis ..... she is fantastic ...... you send them an email ( link in pp site ) and they do the booking via return emal, they are art the airport waiting for you and take you to your door .... and give you the latest info re what's going on in PP .... costs about 65euros each way
