Carnival.

February is "Carnival" month in Mallorca, different towns and villages do their own things and on different days. As yet there is nothing being advertised for Pollensa Town or the Port but i will post here as soon as i get any info. If anyone hears of anything please do let us know here .

Should be around the weekend of 18/19 February, Lyn, that things take place. The Thursday will probably be the Puerto Pollensa parade (Saturday in the town), but this is going by previous experience.

Thanks Andrew hopefully those dates are correct, one website i have looked at says it's between the 7th and 13th Feb.
Oh how i wish the organisers were more organised .

Pleased to be able to confirm that the Carnival programme is now out and it is (as always) Thursday afternoon for the childrens carnival in Puerto Pollensa square and Saturday afternoon is the excellent Pollensa parade around the streets - adults, children, individuals and group entries, its always very cheeful and fun to watch or join in.
So thats Thursday 16th (cant remember the time but probably 1530/1600hrs) and Saturday 18th at 1700hrs.

Pollensa Carnival

Sounds like a date for our Diary, looking forward to it, hope the weather heats up, not coping well in this cold apartment Santa Ponsa, think need to go back to UK for a heat, lol - well maybe just this week.

I think we are all struggling to get our homes warm. The properties are not built for this. Thank God for electric blankets,

I must say, we are snug and warm at home it's just when you have to go outside, the wind cuts through to the bones .

Looking forward to the Carnival procession in Pollensa town tomorrow. Its always great therapy as you cant help but leave there feeling happy with life seeing so many smiling faces. Make the effort and go along and enjoy the atmosphere and lets hope the weather is kind to them. Starts at 1700hrs from close to the Ford Garage, Monument Bar.
