Thanks all. Checked my junk and spam emails...nothing. All I got from Easyjet was a confirmation email minutes after I requested a voucher saying "your request is being processed" then strangely it also said "next steps, enter your API before you fly":confused: There was no sign of any code.
Trying to phone them again today but have been on hold for over an hour

Message them on Twitter - or email their CEO. We had to do this with BA as couldn’t get through to them and to be fair, they refunded the money within 48 hours of that email being sent.

Great stuff. Do you have the e-mail addresses?

That would be brill....

Thanks for this. I've sent him an email, and posted a message on Twitter ;)
Will see if it works...
Incidently I see easyjet release their flights for summer 2021 on 16th July, so I hope I've got my voucher in time for then.

I would wait if I were you. Prices will be sky high at the moment. Best time to book summer flights is the first two weeks of December when everyone is focused on Christmas and airlines drop their prices

Requested a refund on June 8th for flights that EJ cancelled for mid June and received refund today after they emailed at the weekend. Family that were coming over also received theirs that day so about 1 month after the request.

I finally received my emailed voucher for my cancelled Easyjet flights yesterday....so it took five weeks. One point to note is it says the voucher cannot be used online, you have to call customer services to use it to book another flight.....so that means spending 1 or 2 hours on the phone trying to get through!
I opted for the voucher thinking I was being supportive and that it would be easier...I regret that now and wish I'd just got a refund. :(

My EJ voucher says you can use it online. It says you just need to insert the voucher code at the payment stage

I've checked mine again but no, it clearly says it cannot be used online and to use it you need to call customer services. I wonder if they've changed the more recently issued ones

I just googled Easyjet flight vouchers and it says "If your voucher has been issued by our customer services team (which mine has) then it will need to be redeemed by our customer services team"

So it looks like I shot myself in the foot by chasing them up about it up instead of just waiting for the automated voucher to arrive :(

Easyjet flights cancelled

Just found out our flights for October have been cancelled. This was from Stansted. Looks like they have pulled all flights to Palma for the rest of the year as my daughters flight at Christmas has also been cancelled! 😟

From 1st September, Easyjet will cease ALL flights from Stansted, Southend and Newcastle. Approximately 600 jobs have been lost and although at sometime in future these hubs will reopen it wont be anytime soon.

That's sad news. A general indication of the trouble the aviation industry is in. Sorry for all folks who've lost their jobs. Their colleagues did a great job this evening coming home to Luton.

Maybe I’m naive, but I’m perplexed by easyJet’s behaviour. I booked flights in early July for my wife and I to fly from Southend (to Palma) in May 2021, in the knowledge that Easyjet we’re thinking of shutting their hub at Southend, but in the belief that they would continue flying from that airport. I’ve heard nothing from them and their website intimates that customers encountering flight cancellations will only hear if their upcoming flight is scheduled within the next two weeks. Am I to think that flights may resume from Southend next year, am I going to be offered an alternative, or a refund

We have had our September flights from Newcastle cancelled by EasyJet and have been told no more flights to Palma from next month. We have asked for a refund which we should receive in 30 to 90 days. Checkingon flights for Sept 2021 are expensive Jet2 £739 and Ryanair £600, we only paid £320 for this year. So who knows were we will holiday next year.

There are only two things certain in life ..... and we spend all of it trying to dodge/ avoid both consciously and sub consciously .... so live for today ! ...... who knows whats around the next corner .....

#Teacu - Like you I read the original statement by Easyjet that they released in June which said quite clearly that although these airports would no longer be hubs they would still fly from there.

I have four flights to Palma from either Stansted or Southend booked for 2021, and already I have had the cancelled flight message for New Year. So it would appear that they are not leaving it to a fortnight before departure to cancel and perhaps indicates that these closures are not going to be short=term.

Just checked, and Ryanair are quoting as little as £86 each for September next year, return from Newcastle to Palma - hope that helps.
