Yep, I had an email telling me my outbound flight has been brought forward a few hours, this after changing the flights a few weeks back to the Weds. I can't face changing the car hire again, we'll just have to pop into Palma for a few hours and then return to collect.:(

Yes my Dad's got cancelled on Monday 7th June but he didn't get an email. We just happened to go on to manage bookings to move it forward and it showed as cancelled.

In the last couple of days Easyjet seem to have cancelled numerous flights during June. There were daily flights from Gatwick to PMI in June but now 10 days have nothing at all. In fact from 10th to 13th June there are no Easyjet flights from any UK airport.

My car hire cost increased by £200 just to bring forward by 10 hours. 5 day rental went from £140 to £350.
Would have been cheaper to take out a one day hire and swap it in the evening. However, Vives Car hire had good prices, I used them before as they supply cars to The Best Villas Pollensa villa company. I re booked with them.

Yes, we’re also victims of easyJet cancellations so for the umpteenth time have bounced to alternative flights. If (please, please, please) we are actually allowed into Mallorca on 5th June, we will have a slightly longer break as a result. Having told us yesterday not to travel to Amber destinations, today the government announce that they have implemented the capability to make 10,000 checks a day to ensure those arriving from Amber locations are correctly quarantining.......mixed signals or what?

I wonder if they have been cancelled or if they have sold out? We have had a big flurry of bookings on our rental property this week - so maybe there has been a rush on flights?

Kate - they were showing 'no flights' on those days but having just had another look practically all flights for June from Luton and Gatwick have been re-instated. I wonder why that is???

My LGW return flights 8 and 22 June have been cancelled and EZY are currently only showing 1 flight a week (on a Monday) for most of June from Gatwick - very strange as still a good chance of the Balearics making the UK 'Green List' from 7th June.....

Yup. Just checked for my Dad and his flight has been cancelled with no email notification yet again!
Can only assume the Government has succeeded in scaring everyone into moving on or cancelling their flights in June and Easyjet are just consolidating into one flight a week!

We had a flight booked on 8th June and found out by accident that it was cancelled so we rebooked. At that time there were only flights on Wednesdays and Mondays. We rebooked for Wednesday 9th which was available. I can only assume that this flight filled up quickly which is why you couldn’t book it. We did get an email cancelling the first first later that day.

Unfortunately it looks unlikely that Mallorca will be in the green list until at least July

Thanks AK the EZY flight on 9th June is showing as available again this morning but we are now thinking of booking with TUI instead. All still challenging and need to keep an eye on all booked flights almost daily........

That is a good idea to keep checking - our return fight on 23 June has just been cancelled. Fortunately there was availability on the 21st but not much else.

Just cancelled both our June flights.....not entirely unexpected given the above comments but still v disappointing. We have managed to book another 19 June flight with BA but will have to come back earlier than planned via Easyjet - and who knows if these will happen? Do they know something we don't know?

This is pure speculation on my part but as only German nationals and those who are resident in Germany can fly to Germany from the UK and regardless of full vaccination or negative test have to go into 14 day quarantine ...due to concerns over the Indian mutation of the virus in England. I suspect looking at Easyjets reduced schedule for the whole of Europe they are taking a very conservative approach in case the rest of Europe follow Germanys restrictions and therefore the knock on effect this would have on routing/posistioning aircraft.

My Lads trip at the end of June was cancelled, so I got a refund. I then booked five days in the first week July inc extra leg room for £92.50 each! Bargain.....if it happens. The extra leg room is so you can take two bags into the cabin, so for short trips that is perfect and no hanging around for luggage. We are arriving late, so going to book a large taxi instead of the car hire and book it when we need to go anywhere when we're there.....which will still work out cheaper than car hire. Ive got bikes, so we can get around.

Moving further into the Summer Season, we got the dreaded phone call from our travel agent on Saturday morning. We have be using him for about 40 years now, so we trust him completely.

We have a dilemma, as although our flights aren't until August 14th. the package for the Miramar is all booked with TUI. However the balance is due for payment on 5th June at the absolute latest, and he doesn't think Spain will be on a green list by then. Further complication is 5 children of primary school age in our group, and they would have to isolate for 10 days upon our return on 28th August; parents think that they have already missed too much schooling this past 18 month so this will not be happening.

Result is travel agent suggests he will hold our deposit for next 12 months and see what next year brings. GUTTED!!!!

Blimey....what a Nightmare. I can't believe that with the vaccinations going well in Spain now that it won't be green by then. However, its possible you can get a last minute deal as soon as it goes green?

Hi
I have received email from Gov.UK which states categorically that the FCDO advises against all but 'essential' travel to Spain including Balearics. I would have thought that would have a knock on affect for travel insurance at the moment. We've decided it's too risky to book flights as our travel insurance have confirmed we wouldn't be fully covered. Plus if flights still going could be problem with refunds...
It's so uncertain!!!

# Francesca.
There are a number of specialist insurance firms which provide cover for travel even if FCDO advises against travel. The main ones are Staysure, Battleface and Avanti and whilst not the cheapest are quite well established and hve good reviews on Trustpilot etc.

If you already have insurance then you could always ask your insurer if they provide FCDO Travel Advice Extension.

Finally bear in mind that FCDO advice is different from Dept. of Transport 'traffic light' guidance. For example whilst all of Spain is on amber list (DoT) the FCDO advice allows travel to Canary Islands.

Hi
Yes do understand that you can take out extension on some insurance policies which will cover you if you decide to travel for a holiday against FCDO advise. I have it in place with Staysure. However, it does not cover you for anything connected with covid.
That is what they told me yesterday when I asked for clarification. Which is why I didn't feel we would be fully covered to travel to Majorca at the moment. Also according to 'Which'consumer advice many would not be aware that ordinary travel policies would not be valid . It can be confusing which is why it's best to keep checking both UK and Spain's government websites and insurance to make choices. Things changing continuously. Hopefully things will get better soon ....Certainly hope so. Really missing my visits to Pollensa x
