Christmas in Puerto Pollensa

Hello all. This is my first post, although I been referring to the forum for several years for info.

I have just booked flights to stay in the port over Xmas. 22nd to 27th Dec. having never spent Xmas here before I was hoping someone might have information on which restaurants and bars will be open here and in Pollensa town. Any ideas where we might have Xmas lunch? We understand it's going to be very quiet- it's what we want.

Its a bit early to know exactly who will be open but going on previous years and some current information, Can Josep, Hells Kitchen, Maxims, Stefanos should be open in the Port. Es Moli did Xmas lunch previously.

Where, if you don't mind me asking, are you flying from to get there at that time of year?? Winter flights are virtually impossible to find.

Stay is open 365 days a year and do a Xmas week MDD which I think is the same price as their usual MDD - but always features turkey. I do know lucky people who have had their Xmas lunch there on the terrace and then managed to swim in the sea afterwards....

Tangoman, Easyjet have flights every day from Gatwick apart from on Christmas day itself. Not sure about other airports though - I know it's much harder away from the South East.

If you are not based in London flights in winter are not easy .But here is a tip for you quite a lot of flights from all over UK to Madrid and flights from Madrid are like buses. easy connection and not expensive take a look at this option to get a taste of PP in the winter I have done it many times , The resort hoppa stops running end of October but the public bus is very easy and very cheap. from Airport into Palma get of at bus station and Bus up to PP many direct some stop at Inca sometimes its faster than Resort Hoppa. Dont dismiss PP in the winter because of the stupid Airlines be inventive and come and see another side to heaven. ( San Antonio Festival a must)

Agree 100%, Been coming out in winter for years and I still never get used to the intense light when the old current bun shines. What a lift to the spirit compared to the dark dismal days at home at that time of year.
Go and see another side to the old girl away from the hustle and bustle of the season and guess what? If the sun comes out you'll have to pinch yourself to remember what time of year it is

Sorry for the delay in replying. We're flying from Bristol, but Gatwick also have flights I noticed. Bristol are Tuesdays,Thursdays and Sundays I believe.

Thanks for the replies all. Il try posting again nearer Xmas and maybe there will be more news then. All sound good so far though. Can't wait, might try and persuade Mr C to come out at half term too! Fingers crossed.

Bristol reduce to 2 flights a week in Jan/feb..Thursday and Sunday

Yes you can. I think the main supermarkets stock those items and certainly Euromart Express, aka the British Food Shop. I know 'cos I've ordered and collected our Christmas dinner, all trimmings and even crackers, from them!

Yes, Christmas pudding, mince pies, clotted cream, Crimbo sweets it's all available and you can also just go with the flow and enjoy the best of both worlds as we do every years

Spent a week at New Year in the 80s at The Illia Dor and it was wonderful

New Years Eve dinner ( which I am sure somewhere have the menu for !) was amazing and it was our first experience of the 12 grapes at midnight !) So many courses and my mother was a bit staggered to see a whole lobster as one of the courses !

It was a very bright week and being a lot younger then ( I wish now !) I swam in the sea from their jetty on New Years Day ! Had to be done !

Have never forgotten that week
