Bonys or the Kebab bar? Discuss

Bonys every time, Jose is just pure class and the one of the reason so many people return to PP every year

mmmmm nothing at all against Bony's but I can't imagine it would get anywhere near most people's top 10 reasons to return to PP

Think seriously about this ...... to be one of the reasons people come to PP would suggest that a lack of it could make someone decide not to come back ........ I hardly think a bar would be that important to be a key decision point for anyones holiday choice .... surely its just somewhere you call in to before or after dinner and not an integral part of a holiday ........... or am I missing something

Sorry CD, I think you will find Ray is rattling chains, and we are just obliging, dont take any notice, although my holiday wouldn't be complete without a visit to see Jose

You will go to the bad fire Ray!!!

For the record I would take JK's over Bonys any day. JK's has no pretentis whasoever, a British Bar in a Mallorcan resort. Great for watching footy and a wee escape from the sun in the afternoon.

I assume you posted to get a much needed discussion going rather than trying to upset anyone. Well done the forum has been too quiet of late. The mollies/ joker and El Pos/ El Mojito posts have got people talking.

My thoughts below-

Bony's - good location, expensive, ok for once or twice in 2 weeks. But is it the bar or the manager who is popular?

Kebab Bar - never heard of it

JK's - friendly enough, but smokey, sport 24/7, with no outside space - could be anywhere in UK- not for me.

Adios

Dave

None of them - pozo's or the cultural bar for me every time.

Regarding jk's can anyone explain to me why you would pay for a holiday to another country and then shut yourself away inside in front of a tv screen? The mind boggles:confused::confused:

I wouldn't Pollensafan, but some people do and i say "each to their own". It would be a boring world if we all liked and did the same things, don't you agree ?. ;)

Bonys ok for one drink. Kebab - Yuk. We always stop for a drink at the Daina, especially if there is some entertainment.

spot on dave, just a little broma to lighten things up

Do you not think we should give JK,S some credit here. They are opened all year long unlike some of the other so called local bars, who close over the winter.gpm

I don't quite "get" JKs ........... to me it just seems like a big room with a couple of large screens , a few sparse tables , some tables that you stand around and a bar at the side with loads of empty space in between

I know the people are lovelly and friendly and the drinks are reasonable and the wi fi useful etc .................... but it has a sort of working mans club feel with smoky atmosphere and sparse decor ............. a bit like the type of place where men went in the old days when it was traditional for a bloke to go out to the pub several nights a week for last orders leaving wifey alone to look after the kids ....................

So its not like anywhere we see at home in that its not a traditional pub but neither is it a cafe bar or a cocktail bar or like anywhere we would expect to come across on holiday .... so I'm not sure what it is aiming to be

Above not meant to be critical ,..... I just donlt understand what they are aiming to be as I have never come across anywhere like it before ................

Whatever it is, they are obviously doing something right as it is very popular.

It is a "Sports Bar", that is why they have the big screens, 3 tvs, pool table and dartboard. :);)

As sparky says its a sports bar, and also CD what you have described is still like it it is Spain, look around the back streets of the port and town and you will see lots of small bars full of men only in smokey atmospheres

Well you're never too old to learn .................. you know I've never really known what people mean by a sports bar and now I know, I feel like a bit of a numpty...... I guess when you think about it, if the whole idea of the place is its that its mainly for people to go whilst they watch sports , then the layout etc make a lot of sense

I guess we have then in the UK too but I've just never come across one ...... getting old, clearly not up to date

SWS ..... re small bars full of men ................. yep seen loads in the back streets but they look like local bars wheras JK's always gives me the impression it is aiming to be a tourist bar ....... however , now I realise about the "sports bar" thing I can see its for locals and tourists alike

Have to say I'm a big football fan and do watch games when in PP but prefer to watch them in the Daina or the Joker where I can sit down and its not smokey or too crowded ................. but thats probably coz I'm a not so young lady rather than a young bloke
