Considering a first holiday in PP this summer

Excellent news as they are Atol Abta bonded.... so thats one less thing to worry about.

I have lost count the cases I have dealt with over the years of people how have found themselves up ''a creek without a paddle'' through tour operator,airline failure ,lack of travel insurance or failing to comply with the terms and conditions of TI

we rent an apartment above laguna.

The girl friend was a single mum when she brought her son over to PP, some 15 years ago..and was smittten with the place.

I took her back there last year and we are going bck this coming saturday. We used to go to Albufueria in Portugal, but since the russian mafia moved in with the lap dancig/brothels, it went down hill fast.....so PP it is from now on

I paid in full because the alternative was paying half and paying the rest in July. I didn't think it would make much difference as I am paying out of savings and I'd rather just pay and forget about it (as if I hadn't spent the money at all!)

It was a website called sunshine.co.uk

I did a Google search to find out if it was a safe agent and plenty of people said it was OK.

Gerogie, Having read you're post's I'm getting nervous for you lol. Right now listen up. Sit down with a glass of whatever is your tipple. Take some long deep breaths. This is my prediction. You will come back from your pp holiday and read back through your post's and wonder what you were bothered about. You are right in the centre of everything location wise. You could through a stone at the main bust stop from where you're staying. There is more beech at your disposal than you can shake a stick at and whatever you want to eat you will find it at a budget that suits you. Now stop this worrying. If I'm wrong ,then when you come back tell me and I'll run naked along the pine walk. Thats how confident I am.

It was just A BIG DEAL booking my first holiday outside the UK for me and the kids. Last year we went to the Isles of Scilly which are really beautiful and somewhere I know really well. But after the winter I want some guaranteed sunshine not keeping my fingers crossed for good weather.

I have to say though, I remain concerned about the Cappuccino thing. I'm worried that the outside space is hijacked by this operation and as hotel guests we either don't have the facility of sitting outside or, if we wish to, we will feel like cheapskates if we are not buying the expensive drinks, etc.

I want to be able to sit on the beach with my kids and drink a bottle of water we bought at the supermarket. I forfeited a pool by booking this hotel because I liked the idea of being right on the beach. I'm still worried about the presence of Cappuccino. I contacted the hotel directly to ask them to clarify the situation with respect to residents' use of outside space but got no reply. This in itself is a bit concerning/disappointing.

I saw that someone 'Majorca veteran' actually started a thread to complain that (s)he posted on this one and it didn't show up. Still waiting to hear from you, Majorca veteran!

Georgia, please do not worry about Cappuccino! You will not feel like a cheapskate and will be able to eat or drink anything you wish to buy from a supermarket and eat it on the beach along with most other holiday makers. When you arrive you will realise how laid back PP is. Most people have picnics on the beach and a simple meal in the evening ....or sometimes push the boat out. The choice is yours and every taste is catered for. IMO this whole debate about Cappuccino has got a bit silly. The majority of people on this forum think that PP has benefited from it opening and it certainly hasn't hijacked the hotel.

Relax, look forward and buy your swimwear!

I can only assume by that comment that you have no idea how vast the beach in pp is. Never mind a bottle you could have a tanker of water and a 3 course meal if you wanted it.

However I fear that no matter what anyone has told you, it makes no difference. The stress levels in your post's even make me nervous.

As Debz said, don't worry, you will have a great time.
Cappuccino is lovely and enhances the hotel, to be fair it is not the cheapest place but you will find plenty of other places on your doorstep. You will have plenty of room to relax on the beach with whatever you choose to buy from the local shops.

Capuchinos is just one place in PP so dont worry

We stay the other end of PP where the beach is much wider Usually have picnic on the beach as prefer one meal a day They have their cheap supermarkets ( Eroski ) and lots of places to get snacks to take to the beach

It is a very laid back resort Never felt pestered to buy anything or drink more or order extra courses in a restaurant as we have in some places !!
You can live in luxury or on a budget Always lots of people with children in the square at night and lots of varied places to eat and drink

You will like most people who go there love it and feel so relaxed My husband looks at the See Mallorca webcam every lunchtime and everyone in his office who has been there goes Agh !!! wish I was there!! I said to friends who have been there but also really travelled the world ( back from a 3 month world cruise this week !) how much we still love it after probably first going there 30 odd years ago and she said whats not to like !

So relax now and look forward to it

Do not be put off by the "Cappucino" Georgie. The Sis Pins itself has lovely accomodation, great staff and do a lovely breakfast. There is also a sunbed area opposite the hotel for Sis Pins guests only. The cappucino does take over the terrace area after breakfast, but as others have said you are spoilt for choice for Restaurants and Cafes right on the doorstep.

Please don't worry. As another member has sad there is a 'Private Terrace' with loungers opposite the hotel & on the beach for hotel guests & miles of beach all along the front.

I recently became a single mum and have daughters aged 10 and 12. I've never taken them on holiday by myself before.

We like swimming, snorkelling, lazing around reading by the pool, pottering around shops and markets and occasionally something a little more energetic like a bike ride.

Hi Georgie,

If I understand correctly you are concerned about not being able to take your own water etc onto Sis Pins' private terrace? I am sure that you should be fine, loads of hotels state that you are not allowed your own water in their terrace/pool area but that is downright unfair in the summer heat; we stayed there when it was Globespan-owned and never had any issues - all change now but I do know that the terrace still looks lovely and comfy and perfectly situated!

They may take issue with residents bringing their own food onto the terrace but it would be Easy Peasy for you to take your sandwiches etc and just sit a few feet away on a bench/the beach for a while to have your lunch and snacks. Believe me, Sis Pins is in such a wonderful part of the bay; I love swimming and it is the perfect area to paddle about, float, fish or swim right out from. You are going to have a fabulous time!

You will be absolutely fine. Cappuccino have no control over the Sis Pins private terrace. It is the most beautiful place to stay - Cappuccino really does not impinge upon the hotel at all. I cannot believe that the Sis Pins management would have an issue with you taking water etc on the hotel terrace as it has always seemed the most laid-back of establishments. It is the perfect location - I'm sure you will have an idyllic holiday!

Hi Georgie - welcome to PP! Do not worry about stuffiness or being out of place at sis pins - pollensa is a really laid back place and nowhere is really posh. If your worried about sipping a water or coke from the supermarket on the sis pins terrace then just step onto the beach and chill!
It will take you a day to get your head around the place and then you will just relax and have the most wonderful time with your girls - and you will be back next year because once you have been to pp there is nowhere else to go - stop worrying - you have made the best decision of your life

Can I just add one thing the beaches are all public so you can do on them what you like within reason. You are in for a great holiday so time now to stop fretting and start planning a great trip. I fly out in 24 hours and still so excited to be going back to a place we love.
