Although not an avid webcam watcher, since the outbreak I have not seen one person walking by the seafront on the Tammarell's webcam and hardly a vehicle.
Well done to you all in such difficult times and I hope you all stay well.
Keep safe and can't wait to see you all in happier times :)

It is almost completely deserted, everyone seems to be really following the rules of the lockdown which is fantastic, the sooner we all comply the better! Everything is very, very well organised and the general atmosphere is friendly and cooperative. I think it is actually going to be quite strange when the rules are relaxed a little, it has become second nature for us all to give each other a 'wide berth'....and it seems to be working, the fear will be, will this come back as bad, if not worse, when the rules are relaxed? Although obviously delighted that Mallorca is doing so well I have to admit to being a little concerned that we may be used as a 'test case scenario' as has possibly been suggested. However for the economy and normality in generaal, life needs to resume as much as possible and as quickly as possible, a logistical nightmare for governments around the world. Very difficult times we are all in and I think a 'new normal' of sorts is hopefully around the corner - my hope is that this means we may all become more aware of each other, the world around us and kinder as a result. Sorry, waxing lyrical here...too much time on my hands! Take care all, and yes, it is very quiet!:):)

I have wondered about the people who were demonstrating, with placards last year, saying tourists not welcome, how they feel now they have their wish come true .

At least it make Pollensa one of the lowest scoring on that list with just 0.03%

The whole island average is 0.17% while the whole of Spain is 0.43% infection rate.

UK average is 0.19% and my area is 0.12%...

While the weather nice here in blighty I'm content to be stuck here just now but as soon as lockdown is over I'll be pining to get there again...

I too can’t wait to return, but for now that’s secondary to my wish for the good and resolute people of PP, who have behaved so impeccably through their lockdown, to be allowed to return to their normal lives as soon as good judgement allows.

However much I want to return, I certainly don’t want to if it puts PP residents at any risk. Despite owning our apartment, that we long to return to, I feel lucky to be a guest of the local residents and hope for their safety, and a return to prosperity for them.

Thanks for this information, Sparky. You are to be congratulated on typing all those names and figures. You must have huge reserves of either patience or spare time on your hands ( or both?) ;)

I can't find an emoji for 'tongue in cheek'

The problem with counting cases is that there are different levels of testing in different countries. What is more reflective is counting the death rate by population. At the moment we are tracking just above France and just below Spain.

So the numbers here are getting much better, as from tomorrow 26th April children under 14 can go out for an hour a day and can ride bikes and scooters.

It has just been announced that adults will be allowed out to walk and exercise from 2nd May, subject to confirmation on Tuesday :D.

No more than you all deserve for keeping this awful virus at bay. Stay strong, keep safe and keep well :) hopefully we all may be able to join you soon to celebrate and give thanks for the life and love that your beautiful island gives to us all xxxx

On a trivial (at present), but noticeably visible aspect - it will be interesting to see if (or when) the sunshade poles & sunbeds are established on the beach this year.

Maybe phased also; 1 in 4 to start for good separation; then 1 in 2. Then ??? Difficult to know what the demand might be as the weeks & months progress.

I look at the Hotel Miramar webcam everyday. It will be nice to see people out and about again :)

I don't think there will be any beds/brollies on the beach until the end May at the earliest. It looks like at that time only people with second homes here will be allowed to visit, at first it will be those whose main residence is elsewhere on the island. After that those from other areas of Spain with second homes here can visit, assuming they meet the criteria, this is scheduled for mid/end June.
It's anyone's guess as to when people from other countries will be permitted to travel here.

Here is a google translation from the UH, https://www.ultimahora.es/noticias/...stado-alarma-asi-plan-desescalada-espana.html :-

These are the guidelines established by said plan:

ZERO OR PREPARATION PHASE

- Individual outings to exercise, scheduled for May 2.
- Opening of premises and establishments by appointment for individual customer service, such as restaurants with food service to be able to take home without consumption on the premises. The service must be provided with the maximum protection.
- Opening of individual training sessions for professional and federated athletes and basic training for professional leagues.
- Throughout this phase zero, the preparation of all public places will be intensified with signs and protective measures to prepare for the start of the next phase.

PHASE 1 OR INITIAL PHASE

- Depending on the criteria, the partial start of certain activities will be allowed, opening of small businesses under strict security conditions except for centers or large commercial parks "where agglomerations are more likely and mobility to travel to them is increased more".
- In restoration, the opening of terraces with occupancy limitations of up to 30 percent in hospitality will be allowed, the opening of hotels and tourist accommodation excluding common areas and with certain restrictions that will be raised in an order by the Ministry of Health.
- The opening of premises in phase 1 will include a preferential schedule for those over 65 who are the most vulnerable group to Covid-19.
- In the agri-food and fisheries sector, activities that maintained restrictions will resume.
- Places of worship may open, limiting capacity to one third.
- In the sports field, the opening of High Performance Centers is contemplated with reinforced measures and hygiene and protection and, if possible, shifts and if possible, medium training in professional leagues will be allowed.

PHASE 2 OR INTERMEDIATE PHASE
- In restoration, interior space of the premises will be opened with a capacity limit of one third, guarantees of separation and only for table service.
- Although the school year will begin in September, this phase includes exceptions with three purposes: reinforcement activities, ensuring that children under six can attend if both parents have to work in person and to celebrate the EBAU.
- Resumption of hunting and sport fishing.
- Opening of cinemas, auditorium theaters and similar spaces with pre-assigned seats and a one-third capacity limit.
- Visits to monuments and cultural facilities such as exhibition halls, conference rooms with a third of the usual capacity will be possible.
- Cultural shows can be held with less than 50 people in closed places with a third of the capacity and outdoors they will be possible when they gather less than 400 people as long as they are seated.
- Places of worship must limit their capacity to 50 percent.

THIRD PHASE OR ADVANCED PHASE:
- Once markers are met, general mobility will be made more flexible, but with the recommendation to use the mask outside the home and public transport.
- In the commercial sphere, the capacity will be limited to 50 percent and a minimum distance of two meters will be set.
- In restoration, the capacity and occupation conditions will be made more flexible, although with strict conditions for separation between the public.

As for the use of the beaches, not only to go for a walk as it can already be done, the Prime Minister explained that it can be done "from phase 3".

1 in 4 separation would be good. Particularly with the more recent versions of sunshade. The view from the Pine Walk out over the bay would be restored. Beautiful :)
