Shocking for all, sounds virtually like back to full lock down - lets hope this vaccine roll out is the game changer for everyone. Thinking of all in PP.

Supposed to be joining you all tomorrow for the New Year but Stay have had to cancel our meal and our flights have now been cancelled. We feel desperately sad for all those in Mallorca currently having to battle this awful pandemic and hope the end will come soon.

Stay safe all and hopefully in a few months time we will once again be able to travel and enjoy the hospitality that makes PP the place to visit.

Happy New Year to all :)

The latest restrictions from the Balearic Government are, as of Tuesday 12th all bars, restaurants, gyms, spas, large stores and shopping malls must close for 15 days :(.

This has now been postponed until Wednesday 13th .

Sparky, just enough time for you to stock-up. Mind your back those bottles are heavy!
Keep well if not completely sober.

The current restrictions are to stay in place until at least 13th February.

I think every country will be the same going forward till the summer at least. How do yous feel about the horrific lockdown imposed last year that seems to have had no effect apart from to delay things?

How is the vaccination process working Sparky?

The lockdown had a big effect in Mallorca but then when restrictions were lifted and travel was allowed it all went downhill.

Unfortunately the vaccination process is not as good as it could be because the Balearics are not getting the supplies it needs to move forward.

The slow vaccination in the EU is the main reason I doubt that any sort of normal tourist travel we be allowed before 2022 at the earliest, which is a very sad thought as we all miss PP so much.

Absolutely everything is crossed for all to get vaccinated asap so that all can move forward with their lives. Thanks for the link Sparky.

And 2 for us as well !

We are booked for June and have had our first Vaccinations so fingers crossed

At last some good news about Covid. According to the MDB there are 65,000 cyclists who wont be coming to the Playa de Muro area this spring.

Maybe good news for the anti cyclist brigade but disastrous for the local economy.

This is yet to be confirmed by the Balearic government on Friday, but the press are saying that from Monday 26th, bars and restaurants will be able to open in the evenings until around 10pm, however only on terraces (not inside), also the curfew will be an hour later from 10pn to 11pm :).

Great News

Can we desperate people really dream now that we will see our beloved PP this year July onwards ?

Baby steps......but progress I guess. I think it all depends upon the Balearics getting to grips with vaccinations and our government granting the converted “Green” status. I feel for the local residents and businesses. Fancy living in such a lovely place and not being able to enjoy it properly or earn an honest crust. Far sadder for them than us, to be honest.

The press are now saying that they must still close at 5pm on Fri/Sat and Sun so it's not really that great :(. Monday til Thursday they have to close at 5pm then re-open at 8pm.

Of course this is not official so we will have to wait until Friday.
