Disposal of old furniture-any municipal sites?

Hi, we have recently bought an apartment in Puerto Pollensa and bought new matresses. Does anyone know how to dispose of the old one? We can take them to a tip in the car as they are too old for anyone to use but does anyone know where this is located? Thanks, Mike

Go down to the cock roundabout in Pollenca and take the road that goes past the sports stadium. Go past the horse museum and it just on the right hand side. Take some ID, as they seem to log you and your car number plate before you are allowed to dispose of anything.

I've also heard that the council will collect certain items such as mattresses one day a week and that you need to call them to ask for the collection & then leave it in the road.

Does anyone have any more details of this?

Hi to both who replied. Really helpful and solved my first major problem as a property owner. If anyone does have the council tel number it would be helpful for the future.

Thanks to both who replied with help. Will use the council tip in Pollensa near the sport stadium. If anyone has the council tel number for refuse pick up it would be handy for next time. Not sure if my original 'quick reply' got through as I'm a new memebr/user.
