I am currently on holiday in PP and I thought I would write a quick post to praise and recommend our favourite cafe in PP - the Dolç Sa Pobla, as I haven't seen anyone recommend this gem before on here.

We first discovered Dolç Sa Pobla on our first visit to Puerto Pollensa back in 2005. My then 4 year old son used to wake up at 6AM every morning. This made getting breakfast a problem as most of the SPAR supermarkets (that sell lovely bread and pastries) don’t open until 8AM. So I had to drive around and find something open and I found the Dolç Sa Pobla. It was rammed full of locals having their morning coffee and ensimadas, which I took as a good sign. The quality of the food was amazing so we have been frequent visitors to the cafe ever since.

Yesterday we went there for lunch and today we went there for breakfast. I took some photos so you can see what it is like:

Delicious pastries!

For lunch we had some delicious bocadillos, which are toasted baguette open sandwiches. I had a serrano ham and tomato one while Jonny had a normal ham one:

The address of the cafe is Carre Roger de Flor, 33 and below is a link to see where it is on Streetview: Dolç Sa Pobla on Streetview

I can't recommend the cafe enough. When you are in PP you should pop in!

Thanks Simon. It does look a lovely clean cafe and the pastries can not be ignored! Hope you are having a good holiday with your cheeky chappie!;)

i can second that nomination we generally have our breky there, must admit never been later on, but the croisents & bocadillos are fantastic, not cheap.

Hi Simon,

Glad to hear you and Jonny are back in PP and Jonny looking as cute as ever.....that boy has style!! Great photos and a very inviting looking cafe, I must have passed it on a few occasions, next time I will pop on in and sample what's on their delicious looking menu!!

Enjoy your Holiday! :)

Hi Simon

Yes, I also have to agree - the coffee, cakes and in fact all food here is great. I found it one morning after a particularly strenuous aquagym class at the pool, so all my hard work was soon undone

The staff are always friendly and you can catch some afternoon sun in the winter by sitting on their outside terrace. It is also a great place to stop on market days (but it is very busy)

Highly recommend it :)

Also agree with all of above one of our favourites especially out of season

Glad I'm not the only one who has discovered this gem. And also that I may have persuaded some others to try it!

We are having a lovely holiday thanks. Shame it is coming to an end as we go back home on Tuesday :(

Fabulous photos Simon. We regularly buy bread there and occasional pastries and havehad the odd the drink/snack there. But not breakfast at 6am! :)

Hi Simon, I must have been past that place a thousand times and never been in, but i can tell you that on the picture of that ham &tomato bocadillo alone i'll be in there next week:):) (i can almost taste it)

haha! Thankfully he doesn't wake up at 6AM any more now that he is older. More like 8-9AM which is much better.

Great, you'll love it!

those cakes look lovely!! Do you take a tripod with you? I'm looking for a light weight tripod to take to do long exposures and wondered if you had a recommendation? thank you! x

We always stop off and buy baguettes for our picnic on the way to Formentor. Freshly made to order and always delicious :) A lovely little cafe.

Glad you are getting a bit of a lie now Simon!!

I also agree, Anna and I stop there nearly every morning before we open the staff are so polite and work hard, the boss is a very lucky man to have the 3 girls who work there, wish I had them here at the diner

I too have walked past so many times....not any more though will definatley make a point of popping in for coffee and cake....or a baguette to take away....also love the fact that you took the time to put location on streetwise, thank you also give me a quick fix of the Port when I feel like a 'walk around'!

I do take a tripod with me but I wouldn't recommend it. I first bought it in 2004 for my old compact camera and it only cost £10. It is really flimsy and too lightweight for my Canon 50D and Tamron 17-50 lens and really struggles with my Sigma 70-200 f/2.8! I really need to buy a new one.

Sorry to take the thread off topic!

Dolc Sa Pobla

This place is fabulous. Lovely coffee, bread and pastries and delightful friendly efficient staff. I love it and have coffee here about 4 times a week. Would thoroughly recommend it.:)
