Looking forward to hearing all your reviews on your returns.

Hi
Just returned from PP and thought you would all like to know where we were fed and watered.

Day1
O Lume

I was pleased to see it was nearly full and as usual we were not disappointed with the food and service.(Passed on your regards Snowy)

Grilled Crayfish to start for hubby and I.
Followed by Monkfish and clam cassorole.
The fried milk pudding was every bit as good as I remembered.
Coffee & Chocs followed with a complimentory brandy and baileys.

Day2
Can Ferrar

This is usually one of my favourite places sat outside in the Summer-but must admit lacked a certain amount of atmosphere sat inside due to the weather.

Fish Paella was as good as ever and was washed down with a jug of Sangria.

Day3
Due to the rain we decided to eat out at lunchtime as well as the evening.

Tango's
Menu of the day
French Onion Soup
Steak in Peppercorn sauce
Creme Caramel for pudding
Accompanied by a agreeable bottle of Rioja.

Tapas Restaurant(opposite Cantonet-Pollensa)
Varied Tapas dishes which were reasonably priced.
Good atmosphere.

Day 4
La Fortalesa
Another cold & rainy day but we felt warm and welcome as soon as we walked into here.
Lovely starters: Baby squid, green peppers & crab croquettes
Main Course's:Frito Marinaro & Shoulder of lamb
Sweet:Creme Brulee
Ths was actually our favourite meal of the week!

Day 5
Stay
Although we had hoped for a sunny day so we could eat outside despite the heaters the weather was still not good enough!
However inside there was a pleasant and buzzing atmosphere
we had menu of the day.
Cream of shrimp Soup (me) spring rolls with sweet & sour sauce (hubby)
Veal in port sauce(me) Chicken cassorole (hubby)
Vannilla Panocotta with Chocolate Sauce
Coffee, chocs & Tia Maria to finish

Day 6
To the old town and
Can O'lessa
Lovely green peppers to start
Duck for hubby and stuffed aubergine for me
Best jug of sangria that week (which the waitress told us was a new recipe)

Looking forward to our return in August to hopefully see the sun and all the other lovely places we never had chance to visit this time.

And of course reading all your posts and comments on this subject.

Just got back from PP terrible weather but love the place just as much. Tried O,Lume on your reccomendations excellent food and service will go again. But found a little gem 'Restaurant Siller' we've walked past it many times en route to Caprabo and decided to give it a try both had sea bass which was cooked to perfection, then filo pastry basket filled with fresh fruit and mango sorbet -to die for, give it a go!

Charlotte ,

Glad you enjoyed your trip, at least we were not disappointed by the restaurants despite the inclement weather. You'll certainly notice a difference in August but be prepared to book at many of the restaurants in high season.

Mrs Lizzard,

Sillers an old favourite ( see my review on page 5 "Days of Wine and Roses"). Do you know if Catalina was cooking? as we didn't go this time and heard through friends that she was due to be indisposed for about a month. It's a real labour of love for her and just wondered if Manuel had managed to get a "stand in ".

Anyone know ??

BonysLad :D :D

Re: Re:Easter Visitors

Siller's an old favourite of ours as well..the service and food are both wonderful. As Bonyslad says it is a true labour of love for Catalina and you can tell Manuel is very proud by the way he speaks about her.

A bit off the beaten track and doesn't look much from the outside but well worth a visit! If you're a steak lover pop in or phone during the day to pre order... you'll be in for a rare treat, or medium :\ however you like it really cos you cook it yourself! :p

Re: Re:Easter Visitors

Back from the port ourselves - just about dried out now!!!Havn't been to Siller for decades - sounds like we must try it again!

C'an ferra we like better in the winter because of the cosy atmospher - but it did lack something - apparently Guilliem - the little one of the two brothers is taking a year out from working at the restaurant - couldn't get Tony to tell us why though.

Where is O'Lume - still haven't found it despite the number of times we go - can you give me a street name?

Went to Bona Cepa - usually cosy in the back at this time of year - a bit disappointing as the place was empty!!

Re: Re:Easter Visitors

Yes I was ther at Easter and it did rain everday but the pasta
at Il gardino, the lamb at Posada de Ariant and Frito Mallorca
at Bar Centro made up for all that!
Whatever the weather the charm and character is always there!
